Title: Forum charity game? Post by: blinkpip on Monday, April 7, 2008, 17:30:18 Bristol Rovers have got a official fans forum team, where they play other fans at the memorial ground and away for charity. Last year I played for Bath City forum at Twerton Park.
They pay around £15 each and you get to play on the pitch, with all the money going to some cancer charity. The game was even filmed and put on DVD, so what ever profit they make on it goes to charity too. Anyway, maybe we could arranged a game against them at either the Memorial before it gets knock down or even the County Ground (never know?) make money for charity and enjoy it. They wear the Clubs shirts and it is quite professionally done, even people who don't want to play can help with bucket collecting etc. Just an early idea and stuff, what are everyone views? I got the Rovers fan email address if anything serious. Title: Forum charity game? Post by: Matchworn Shirts on Monday, April 7, 2008, 17:32:53 They do it against Bristol City on a regular occurance, they have played against them at home and at Ashton Gate.
I'd be up for playing, you can put me down if anything manages to sort itself out Title: Forum charity game? Post by: reeves4england on Monday, April 7, 2008, 17:35:52 I'm still recovering from my ankle injury at the moment, but if it were to happen in a few months time I'd be up for it. I'm sure we'd get a team from here without too much trouble.

You could even get a team together and have some of the legends playing on it and auction off places to play on the teams etc?? Say 5 legends plus places auctioned off on one team and the same on another.... just another idea like..... Title: Forum charity game? I'd be up for having a few beers and cheering on the team :D Or I'll play in goal if I've got money when anybody organises this. Or if someone wants to fund it. I could do with a keeper top and some new gloves if you end up really desperate for a keeper. Oh and a couple of bottles of wine to keep me going for the 90 minutes. and 20 L&B's. I just got confused in some sort of flash back whilst typing. Has there ever been a computer where the & was above the 6? Just wondering because it confused me. I'm thinking BBC Micro, but I haven't used a real one in decade or so. Title: Forum charity game? Post by: Spud on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, 05:25:54 I'd play, centre back. :D

Seems nice and cheap compared to our own rip-off play on the pitch idea... Title: Forum charity game? Title: Forum charity game? Post by: blinkpip on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, 18:48:45 Ill send the Rovers chap an email
I think we would be able to get at least 16-20 people on here. Even if anyone can only play ten minutes whatever they probably can. The more for charity the better. anyway, it's early days. Clubs could say no anyway. Gazzza, can we sub Phil King on and off again? Title: Forum charity game? Post by: RobertT on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, 21:35:04 I'll stick my name down depending on dates etc. I can slot in between the defence and midfield, unless the defence pushes up in which case I'll temporarily be at Sweeper.
