Title: Interview with Big Mo Malpas on BBC Sport Post by: stfctownenda on Friday, April 4, 2008, 10:32:34 Malpas disappointed by sack talk
Swindon have won four out of 17 games under Malpas (Getty Images) Swindon manager Maurice Malpas has told BBC Radio Swindon that he finds talk of him being sacked "disappointing". "It's part and parcel of the job," he said. "I've got to handle that. Town are 16th in the League One table, and some supporters have criticised the boss due to the team's recent poor form, but the board are backing him. "I've every confidence what I'm doing is right. The biggest thing is the chairman has every confidence in what we're doing right," he said Interview: Swindon Town manager Maurice Malpas "In my first interview, I said we'd be crawling before we can walk, before we can run. "OK, maybe we're crawling a wee bit too long, but I still believe we're going the right way." I have every respect for the supporters and their opinion, but some of the media stuff has been a wee bit OTT Maurice Malpas Malpas feels that the problem is that his side's improving performances have not been reflected in their results. "Everybody's entitled to criticise, because it is poor," said Malpas. "I've never tried to hide behind that, and I've no problem with people saying it. "But for people to start suggesting I should be sacked, I find that hard to take. "I'm an honest guy, I work my tail off and I have every respect for the supporters and their opinion, but some of the media stuff has been a wee bit OTT." Fair play he comes across better in that Title: Interview with Big Mo Malpas on BBC Sport Post by: Dazzza on Friday, April 4, 2008, 11:21:58 Post match I thought he's been fairly good to date in his interviews. Certainly more comprehensive than mumbles Sturrock ever was in his assessment of the game.

Title: Interview with Big Mo Malpas on BBC Sport Post by: Spencer_White on Friday, April 4, 2008, 12:17:58 I do feel for him reading that. Oldham are lined up ready for a beating now, its time for people to stop talking and start winning.
Title: Interview with Big Mo Malpas on BBC Sport Post by: Dazzza on Friday, April 4, 2008, 12:33:15 Not being to a game in fookin ages I haven't seen the Malpas revolution in person yet but I think we will all get there in the end. Ican’t fathom some of the shit that’s been posted on the Adver forum and comments trailing the articles though it’s absolutely fucking unreal.
Granted everyone, players and staff deserve criticism when we lose but by comparison to the shit on there they make good old Bart appear to present the best balanced and reasoned arguments in the West. There’s nothing constructive or supportive just a bloody witch hunt that made the King debacle at its very worst look like a tea party. Meh maybe I’m just getting old. I used to look forward to post match interviews pre-sturrock, but Sturrock used to make listening to them tough. He always sounded pissed off, miserable, and often sounded like he'd just over exerted himself while giving his wife a bit fat sweaty fuck. Maybe it was the imagery that meant i couldn't listen. Quality. That sums Sturrock up better that I could have done in a thousand fucking words :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick: This week has seen some top class posturing in all departments. I think Fitton made a bit of a cunt of himself by slating fans. It doesn't matter whether he was right or not, having a pop just made him look rank amateur, something I didn't think I'd ever find myself saying about him. He's stuck his cash in and rescued the club, no problem, but I didn't think he'd stoop to that level, ever. Still, he's new to the job, so he's entitled to make the odd fuck up. His comments don't diminish the glos of his takeover, but I just wish he'd lead from the front like he promised to do when he took over, and take us all with him. Andy Cryer needs to wind his Bristol City supporting fucking neck in. Granted he has to sell papers, but his credibility is wearing thinner by the day trying to convince readers that his stfc forum is the font of all fan opinions. Printing comments from posts on that forum is taking the piss, specially when he's stirring the shit about Malpas on the one hand, then contradicting himself by backing him in his personal column. I think Malpas has done well with his words in the press this week. He's finally shown a bit of his personality and humility, especially today. Admitting the blatantly obvious and publicly empathising with fans is a smart move. The backing of senior players and them taking some responsibility for shit results is good too. I'm fucking preying that we pick up the 3 points tomorrow. Anything that wipes the mental image of Luggy giving his wife a 'big fat sweaty fuck' - presumably whilst munching on a 'stovie' - will do me :beers: Title: Interview with Big Mo Malpas on BBC Sport Post by: janaage on Friday, April 4, 2008, 23:43:32 All I can say in a 1978 style (and I feel Will will know what I'm on about)
"We're on the march with Big Mo's army..." 14 and a bit hours to go.... It's time for bed and then brekkie and then time to get to the ground, then time for three points then way hey we're staying up.... He was stating a fact. Everyone on here said how delusional our fans were when they all started expecting multi million pound signings when a few rich guys took over the club.
