Title: Masterstroke? Post by: lebowski on Wednesday, April 2, 2008, 17:43:15 Let's face it, Fitton's credibility is nigh on bullet-proof compared to Malpas'. For him to come out and say these things, that a lot of us are thinking, is absolutely brilliant in my opinion. The result is that no-one is talking about Malpas now, and everyone is talking about Fitton. The pressure is off the boss and the squad know the money man is not happy with some of them. Hopefully this will focus the minds of our mis-firing squad.
Bring on Oldham. Title: Masterstroke? Post by: Samdy Gray on Wednesday, April 2, 2008, 18:00:39 Possibly.
It's quite genius if it is. Title: Masterstroke? Post by: dell boy on Wednesday, April 2, 2008, 21:18:43 The dreaded 'Vote of Confidence', BYE BYE MALPAS
Title: Masterstroke? Post by: Simon Pieman on Wednesday, April 2, 2008, 21:39:20 It'll just add fuel to the fire if it continues I think.
I hope we get even a glimpse of picking up our performances and get the results to secure a place in league 1 next year as well. I'm looking forward to the summer break. Title: Masterstroke? Post by: leefer on Wednesday, April 2, 2008, 21:41:17 Same as SIE PIE.
Title: Masterstroke? Post by: fatbury on Thursday, April 3, 2008, 07:38:51 Fitton isnt bullet proof though .. if people dont agree with what he says and arent happy with Malpas they simply wont attend matches - not everyone is hardcore support like me and many of you sadly

Title: Masterstroke? Post by: Arriba on Thursday, April 3, 2008, 14:24:13 a shrewd businessman doesn't guarantee them to be a good chairman of a football club.
alan sugar anybody? infact almost every chairman of every football club will be a succesfull businessman. so far we've had the club bailed out for which we are all very gratefull i'm sure.but the product on the pitch is going backwards at present.and the friday night football idea was somewthing i'd have expected from the last board. if we dont win saturday the pressure will mount further apon malpas. Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Thursday, April 3, 2008, 14:46:45 In the defence of the board Arriba the Friday night thing was explained this morning by Nick watkins and he said they would look into maybe just a one off game ie when a England game is on or something

We beat them, then I flew out to Geneva to see England beat the Argies on the Saturday. I've had worse weekends, in all honesty. It would be a shit idea to do it regularly like Tranmere and Southend though. Especially for fans who don't live in Swindon. Title: Masterstroke? I enjoyed that Friday nighter....made a good start to a lash up, Iffy, Woan and Reeeeves were leading the way later. Which ws fair enough, its just when they lashed it up on Friday befoere a Sat match which raised a few eyebrows. Title: Masterstroke? Referee lets Murray retake the penalty for no reason then Town win anyway. Fabulous.
The first Friday night game I went to was Swindon vs Norwich. It finished 0-0. Jimmy Quinn came on with about 5 minutes to go and hit the bar :| Title: Masterstroke? They got a dodgy pen and we came at them and scored twice before the break. Fallon's goal was pretty good from what i recall. He really loves scoring against the slave traders. Title: Masterstroke? Yep, great goal from Fallon after some good build up play from Miglioranzi. The first goal (McDermott) was pretty crafty too from a quick free-kick Title: Masterstroke?
