fucksticks. and its all Football Manager 08's fault. downloaded the demo on monday night, tried to play it yesterday and it froze. rebooted, tried again, it froze again. deleted the demo, downloaded it again, tried it and it froze a 3rd time. played another game for a little bit, went out for a few hours then came back, it froze while playing fifa, but then was ok after that, then last night it starts freezing after about 3 minutes of switching it on. then i get 3 flashing red lights.  :cry:

worst bit is, i'm on a week off, what the fuck am i sposed to do now? :P

My mate from works also died last night. Apparently microsoft changed the fault to 'if it dies' to 'when it dies'. Damn people. Gonna have to send it way leggett. Don't send the cables though or hard-drive.

yea i know, i'm gonna ring the customer services line later. only problem is, i cant find the receipt. i got it in july, its within the year, but i moved in february and i cant find the receipt  :cry: so i'm not entirely sure its covered under the waranty. although cos its an Elite, they only came out last year, i think april or may, so they might be kind. :S i dunno tho

The newer versions are also now covering by a 3 year warranty, so you're well covered...

that must be a fairly new thing then, all the gumpfh i've read in the warranty booklet say its one year, with an option to pay x amount for 2 years extra. i've officially given up on it now, its still fucking up and i've done all the troubleshooting gubbins.  :cry:  hooray for the tech support guys, its gonna cost an arm and a leg ringing them and sorting it out, gitbags.

You get 3 years warranty for the infamous three red lights of death! If you had bought it from Game and still had the receipt, you could have taken it back there and get it swapped instead of having to send it off to MS.

I want a PS3 and Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. Then i can get started on the licenses before the full GT5 comes out. That game makes me want to knock one out.

I haven't played it to any great degree since GT2, and now they have 'raris, the R8, the Intergrale and rummours of Porkers, Lambos and Superbikes it could be the wet dream of driving games to end all wet dreams of driving games. :porn:

The graphics are so crisp and clear in 1080p and the game flows beautifully and realistically.

I am currently completing all events in C class with my Electric Orange Focus ST.

I've just had a look on Game's website and found I can trade in my Xbox 360 + games for £170... tempting to do that and stump up the extra £100 to get a PS3 40gb.

I won't be changing. There really isn't much in it between the Xbox and the PS3 except the PS3 is so highly priced. Why pay so much more for so little more? And for one game it's just not worth it. 360 till i die  :mrgreen:

The PS3 is a better dvd player by far and is also one of the best Blu Ray players on the market.

Gaming wise, about the same.

Don't watch DVD's on my Xbox. Just use it for gaming.

I've heard a lot of people saying that their 360's have been playing up.  One of my mates works in Curry's so he sorted me out with a good deal for my PS3, one of the best purchases I have ever made.  I got COD 4 at the weekend and it is absolutely immense!

Because the PS3 doesn't seem to break down every 3 months

Finished the single player mode. T'is indeed good. The scale and detail of the maps is stunning.

I have just started going online with COD 4. I'm shit but you don't get better by not playing. Last night I went on for an hour at 10, went to bed at 1am. Grrrr!

I love these "what is the better console?" debates. I mean, they're all pretty similar, just get the one that suits your needs best.

My favourite argument is the graphics one. PS3 and Xbox360 are pretty similar in terms of graphics, the HD debate is a con as well - most console games aren't even rendered in HD. If people were that bothered they would realise PCs have offered proper HD resolutions for years and the graphics are now coming up to 2 generations ahead. But hey ho, it's all good marketing I guess, not that it bothers me.

Consoles are great plug and play fun, easy to store in your living room and go through a larger telly alot better than a pc. They're also miles better for multiplayer fun. If I played arcade games a lot more I would probably delve back into the console market too. As it happens I have about 4 or 5 games I haven't even started/got near to finishing, so I can't really justify more expense.

I guess what I'm trying to say is you get what suits your needs more, rather than buying something for some fantasy kudos. These debates are great fun for about 5 minutes, then it just seems fanboy-esque after that.

i've just printed off the UPS label, and i'll be arranging for them to pick it up soon too. :( 2 to 3 weeks it'll be gone, hope i get it back before gta4 hits the shops! :P

my launch-date premium never gave me an ounce of trouble, i think the console does have its problems, but microsoft are very generous in regards to the warranty issue, i couldn't really see sony doing the same.

They actually send a courier out asap instead of you having to send it off like Microsoft get you to do.

I know someone who only had to wait 3 days for a brand new ps3 to be delivered via courier to them.

Saying that though, before i sold my 360 i had mine since the second week of release and i never had a problem with the console itself. The only thing that went was the power brick supply which they replaced for free within a week.

My Pro Evo seems to have fucked up again now  :evil: Had a problem with the disc being unreadble on the last one and now 2008 seems to want to be as well. I don't think my 360 likes that game much  :(

well i've just checked the progress of the repair online, and it says its now been shipped back! i'm well chuffed, it was only sent last thursday!

I had an ST. Pretty sketchy bit of hardware, some good times to be had though. Actually I've still got mine somewhere. Might set it up for some llamatron action.

The ST was incredible. Proper cartridges and everything.

Still 'loved' my old Amstrad with the tapes though. That introduced me to football management games too.

I would have been more chuffed if it hadn't broke in the first place.
