It's sort of charming in it's own depressing over the top way. I like the way you can watch it once every 2 months or so and still have a fairly good idea of what's going on.

Never watched any of the other British soaps, apart from Hollyoaks now and again. Now that makes Eastenders look like it's a Stanley Kubrick masterpiece.

The absolute turning point for me, or "The straw that broke the camels back" if you will for all soaps in general was the free Deidrie Barlow protests in London and Manchester. Remember them?

I remember when I was working at teh post office in Dorcan and somebody actually asked me if I would be going to the protests!!! To this very day I am still not sure whether or not I said "FUCK OFF" in my mind or out loud before I walked away.

That kind of thing is just plain silly it must be said. And I actually like Corrie

Eastenders is hateful. I love the way they're always miserable and until lately, despite supposedly being "Eastenders", they never talked about footy. Laughable oversight by the writers.
