Wimbledon might have been the first. But they arent going to be the last.

End of the day, Wimbledon were brilliant. They were a non league club who won the FA Cup in 10 years flat. If you look at our attendances v Wimbledon in the 1980's they were good. They were a big draw. But their face didnt fit anymore.

Any fan of any club who doesnt hate the Franchise doesnt deserve a football club themselves.

Unfortunately, Central South call our game a 'derby', and due to the fact that their fans are all plastics, they wouldn't know any better. We just like beating them, like we did last season, when it was the difference between automatic promotion and failure in the play-offs !!!  :)

All I hope is that Franchise languish in the bottom tiers of the football league, if they are to remain in it.

 Not so sure about that. I recall a Christmas fixture around 82/83, when we were on a bit of a roll, it was the John Trollope kids team....Wimbledon kicked us all over the park and nicked a 1-0....they went on to win the league.

 Crowd was 8000+ .....we fell away and JT was sacked.  You never win anything with kids.

I think its part to do with us being one of the most vocal clubs about their move from London

I think it is more to do with the fact that we beat them to promotion last year.

Don't forget they've only had 4 seasons to try and build up a rivalry with someone, early on it is always going to be a team they've been competing with, and lost to.

I dont think AFC Wimbledon are allowed to drop the AFC bit.... The club wanted to name themselves FC Wimbledon when they were set up but the FA I think said that the name was too close to the original name (although the club at the time was using the name Wimbledon FC at the time of the MK move so perhaps now the name has been dropped it can be used)

There is no Wimbledon anymore, AFC are not the so called 'real' Wimbledon

Franchise do consider us rivals.. as well as Luton I believe, and Wycombe. The thing is, the way we act about them kinda makes me think we consider them rivals as well.

I think everybody accepts that Dachauer. But people are much happier supporting a club adopted in the lower leagues by the fans of one which went bust, than they are with a glorified soulless bunch of plastic cunts who gather in a soulless plastic bowl to watch their plastic team......

Have to say I disagree.  I regard AFC Wimbledon as the continuation of the club that won the 1987 Cup Final, played that awful (but quite effective) long ball game in the 1980s and early 1990s and that beat us 3-0 at the County Ground in our Premiership season.

If you accept that the most important component of any club is its fanbase, then this is the conclusion you would (probably) reach - whilst I also accept that not all Wimbledon FC fans became AFC Wimbledon fans.

The only link Wimbledon FC has with Franchise FC is a company number at Companies House which, for me, has far less resonance.  The dirty Franchise conceded this point themselves when they returned all of Wimbledon FC's trophies.

I feel sorry for Milton Keynes City.
