Title: Roberts Post by: Power to people on Thursday, March 20, 2008, 13:48:07 I see that Roberts is to undergo an operation on Tuesday due to a small fracture in his knee which is a career threatening injury.
I hope all goes well for him though and we do see him back gracing the CG sometime next season when he is back to his best. Title: Roberts Post by: Simon Pieman on Thursday, March 20, 2008, 13:55:24 I think he will be gone in the summer. Wages are probably best spent elsewhere if he's out of action for long periods of time every season
Title: Roberts Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Thursday, March 20, 2008, 14:02:50 I think we could probably save some serious cash if we offloaded players like Roberts, Corr, and even Adi Williams.
2 of those players are easily replaceable as well Title: Roberts Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Thursday, March 20, 2008, 14:04:34 I worry for his state of mind
Title: Roberts Post by: flammableBen on Thursday, March 20, 2008, 14:05:41 Maybe it would be best just to put him down?
Title: Roberts Post by: caveman on Thursday, March 20, 2008, 14:10:18 get rid of him and lets move on
Title: Roberts Post by: janaage on Thursday, March 20, 2008, 14:18:06 Williams should go, I'd imagine he'll be on very good wages, brought in by Wise, from a championship club (was he not at coventry before?) and now offers nothing on the playing side of things and what he offers on the coaching side of things is debatable.
Leave him to concentrate on supporting Reading. Title: Roberts Post by: Luci on Thursday, March 20, 2008, 14:19:15 I agree. Williams seems somewhat of a carthorse.
Title: Roberts Post by: DV on Thursday, March 20, 2008, 14:24:35 dont think we'll see Roberts play at the CG again....

Byrne just seems to shout at the players and its difficult to see what Williams does. Personally I would like to see Malpas bring in 2 of his own coaching team and build a strong backroom team. One of the reasons Sturrock has a good record in management is his coaching staff Sommerfield and Blatchley are both very good and specialise in areas that Sturrock is weak in. Title: Roberts Post by: Bogus Dave on Thursday, March 20, 2008, 15:54:11 i'd keep byrne tbh. he seems to be the stereotypical number two, shouting alot, whilst malpas sits back and takes it all in. I dont think malpas will ever be a touchline raver, so to have someone alongside him to kick the players up the arse from time to time wont be a bad thing
Title: Roberts Post by: DMR on Thursday, March 20, 2008, 16:10:55 I don't think we should keep Williams by any means but I don't get why people are slagging him off. Bloke was magnificent for us last season until he got injured and twice the player Aljofree's looked recently.
Look what he did for Jerel's game. Title: Roberts Post by: DV on Thursday, March 20, 2008, 16:12:40 Whilst he did alot for Jerels game, dont over look the defensive coach....
Jerel hasnt looked the same player since Sturrock and his back room team left. Title: Roberts Post by: RobertT on Thursday, March 20, 2008, 17:28:58 I love the way we all know what the coach does with the players in training.
Title: Roberts Post by: lebowski on Thursday, March 20, 2008, 17:46:57 ...and what I remember most about the Ifil-Williams partnership was Ifil spending most of his time bailing out ex-FA-cup-semi-finalist.
Some have very short memories. Title: Roberts Post by: DV on Thursday, March 20, 2008, 18:08:34 Quote from: "RobertT" I love the way we all know what the coach does with the players in training. Well, im just guessing like....but I have a sneaky feeling the defensive coach may have just worked on the defence defending.... Title: Roberts Post by: Simon Pieman on Thursday, March 20, 2008, 18:16:46 I thought our defence went crap because we were missing Vincent. You can always hear him shouting and organising the defence.
Title: Roberts Post by: pumbaa on Thursday, March 20, 2008, 19:22:49 Isn't this thread about Christian Roberts? He isn't a defender, so get back on topic!
I'm getting really pissed off reading the Neanderthal twats on thisis basically slagging off Roberts. Maybe he is he biggest enigma, most frustrating and potentially biggest talent at this club. Yes he is inconsistent. But fuck me, some of the vitriol spewed out on that website towards Roberts sickens me. I for one hope he makes a full recovery and is seen gracing the County Ground pitch next season. Prove everybody wrong Christian - there is the challenge. Sadly, I think his time with us may be over though. That would be a shame. Title: Roberts Post by: BANGKOK RED on Thursday, March 20, 2008, 19:47:16 I just felt the need for a dig on the thisis site.
I mean can you really beleive that "Will MM resign?" thread. RE: Roberts, I think that it is a shame and I feel for him. After all he is a person as well as a footballer, he must be dead gutted. |
