The club have cancelled their sponsorship from Kingswood Group after they went into administration hence why the kingswood thing is gone from the OS asa well as all the advertising boards in the ground. Hmmm wonder who our next sponsor will be? *COUGH" Betfair *COUGH*

Brunel have a three year contract, might be slightly harder to rid ourselves of them.

I expect there are termination clauses in the contract. Will probably incur some costs though.

Good job the Kingswood logo has almost gone from my shirt then. I'll stick it on a hotter wash to rid it totally next time. Shame for all those employed by Kingswood, but as a club were well rid of the sponsorship deal.

Given the negotiating skills and priorities of the people who put the contract together I suspect the deliverables consist of "a bag of cash, used notes only"

A few years ago Rovers were sponsored by Bradshaw's Snack Box. Wednesday had Chuppa Chups and Scarborough (I think) were sponsored by Black Death Vodka. I'd be delighted with any of those.

I recall back at the start of 80's when shirt sponsorship started to kick in ,  Rochdale had their team photo with a player at the front holding a large  plyboard cut out watering can, bearing their sponsor's name the 3 in 1 Garden Centre.   It struck me as funny.....little did I think years  later with our gay little picket fences, we'd look like we were sponsored by the Argyle Street Garden Centre.

Here's a facinating fact, The Colorado Rapids of the MLS play at 'Dick's Sporting Goods Park'. I also like the fact that Featherston Rovers Rugby League side play at the Chris Moyles Stadium and that some Austrian team play at the Arnold Schwarzenigger stadium

The "not much" Prospect Stand has a certain ring to it.

So for those at the CG that have good negotiating skills it is surely an opportunity to get someone to step in and sponsor the shirts for the rest of the season and for any new sponsors to get a bit of kudos after the team are left without a major sponsor.

Where is the actual confirmation of the sponsorship deal being cancelled? Cant seem to find anything about it

I wrote an article saying "rumour has it that it was cancelled" and then I got confirmation from someone saying it was in Nick Watkins notes yesterday in the programme and hence why all the kingswood signs (bar 1) were removed from the ground.

Got to say we have a good (!!) record in Main sponsors going bust. First there was ISIS, who were the Town's first sponsors, who went bust in the '90's, Burmah were bought up in '94, and the name disappeared, and now Kingswood.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Brunel were amenable to a compensation offer to cancel that contract. I don't think the arrangement is working out for either side.

I beleive there is a clause where this can be reviewed at the end of the season, I would imagine it will be terminated due to them not holding up their end of the deal - i.e. things like poor commentary for a start

The post match coverage BBC was very good on Saturday, do they usually have a phone in style format??  I thought they just read out texts but it was good to hear a few phone calls on there.

I wasn't really having a dig at Gary, more of a mild chuckle at the concept of a tinpot firm becoming a listed company, hence the haha goodness at the beginning of my post.

There is a Kingswood plc, but they do large scale projects in London, which I only knew when I had to dig around for stuff to do with Kingswood last year. Although logic would probably tell me it more than unlikely that the Swindon Kingswood would trade on the market.

 I suppose you could listen to Yeovil's advice, after all he is the forum's "agony aunt".....but you're right, I don't care you go out with  a builder.

That Kingswood PLC is a completely different construction firm, of a much more significant size, that has been around for ages.

When the sponsorship deal was first announced they popped up when I Googled and I thought it might not be such a bad deal. Then I realised we were actually being sponsored by a bunch of cowboys that did up ex council houses using government grants and employed three blokes and a dog.

As someone else pointed out it should have been fairly obvious that a tinpot local firm that's just gone bust isn't likely to reincarnate into a company that immediately pulls off a stock market flotation.

Erm... was only saying what I was told.. I dunno about company law or if it was shit do I???
