I'm trying to get my head around the Advertisers back page lead story today, something along the lines of Coxy 'getting stick from supporters but is confident that he'll start scoring again soon', blah blah.

I haven't seen anyone on tef slating him.  Anyone know where this story came from or if the adver journo's are just being lazy pricks by writing bollocks storys?

All the player interviews at the moment seem to be about them saying the crowds been getting on their back. I don't really get it. We haven't - no boos, nothing. So they're not playing at their best at the moment - but everyones 100% behind them.

not quite. i've not heard anyone got on coxy's back but mcgovern, peacock, roberts and paynter have all been targeted by fans in the town end i've noticed

 This is a bit of a worry to me...I've always thought of Town fans as being reasonably supportive of players...unlike fans of say the Scum, where they are quick to moan about players...who then fail.

 I share the frustration with certain players, but there are none at the moment who are in the completely useless bracket of say a Booby Howe, or Shaun Close.

 What they are is typical Div 3 players,  some talent but often a bit crap....

The only recent game where fans haven't got on the players backs is the Huddersfield game, which was probably down to the fact people were having a go at the referee.

this andy cryer bloke is almost as terrible as jon ritson, it's rather depressing.

No one was as bad a Blobby Howe  - even his most fervent admirer on this forum,a certain MrOG, has to agree with me!

There were a few complaints about his miss against Leeds, which may have been justified.

Bit harsh DMR - Andy Cryer did some sterling work during the takeover saga, and the Adver generally showed some mettle. But now they're back to six days a week of a back page and three inside pages to fill and without any dramatic off-field stuff, cup runs etc it's always going to be adonyne interviews with players saying "We know we can do this/try harder/make it hard for x/turn the County Ground into a bouncy castle for visiting sides/Cheltenham's always a tough place to go/owe it to the fans etc etc" The nationals aren't a lot different really they just have a bigger spread of mumbling celebs to choose from

I love the reports on our outside chances of winning the play offs though  :D

And Smith ?
