Title: My adventure to the County Ground
Post by: Bob's Orange on Monday, March 3, 2008, 19:48:40
It cost me 400 Euro to get to and from the County Ground this weekend. My car broke and I wasn't able to get a bus to Hahn Airport so was forced to shell out 280 Euro on a Joe.

I personally thought that we played ok on Saturday. We created more than Leeds and certainly looked more dangerous. Leeds scored with their only shot on target and had we taken our 2 Gilt edged chances (Cox header and Roberts shot which was saved when he should have scored) I think we'd have won comfortably.

Commingues was my man of the match, I was very impressed with him, both at the back and going forward. Roberts was wasted on the left wing, Leeds had done their homework and showed him onto his left peg loads of times, why on earth did he not get hooked for a left footed player! Paynter was my other player I was impressed with, some of the early link up play between him and Cox was very good. Promising Partnership once the goals come.

Thought the Town End were incredibly cringeworthy especially singing about Leeds' shite support when it blatently wasn't.

I almost never bothered when I heard how much it was going to cost but my old man had bought me a ticket and my gran was over for Mother's day and I don't see them very often so thought fuck it!

I was sat in the Nationwide, on the left hand side right at the top, near the Townend. Fatbury and the dozen 11 year olds he goes to the game with were worringly close to me!

Agree about the 'your support is fucking shit' chants being cringe worthy.

Leeds were easily the loudest fans we've had at the CG in a long time.

I remember West Brom being very vocal from memory.

Sunderland fans were pretty noisy the last day of the season when they needed to win and Boro lose.  Attendance around 13,000.  8,000 of which were mackems.
