Title: Sean Morrison Post by: Tails on Monday, March 3, 2008, 17:19:29 In the first team squad tomorrow. Came from Plymuff with Tozer and Joyce. He's a central defender, and Malpas obviously rates him, so I look forward to him playing on the left wing. 8)
Title: Sean Morrison Post by: janaage on Monday, March 3, 2008, 17:27:52 I assume he'll be on the bench as cover, good to see these youngsters coming through, chuck Macklin on instead of Easton on the wing (CE can go back to the middle with Allen) and we might have a couple of players worth getting excited about.
Perhaps if Morrison, Allen and Macklin did start getting selected we could cut them a bit of slack if they fail to return 100% pass success rate, or if they made a mistake or two during the course of a match. Instead of doing the usual and getting on their backs and shouting abuse at them like some choose to do. Title: Sean Morrison Post by: BANGKOK RED on Monday, March 3, 2008, 17:29:06 We're playing tomorrow?
Title: Sean Morrison Post by: janaage on Monday, March 3, 2008, 17:31:09 I was thinking of missing tomorrow but I'm starting to feel like I want to go now. Not sure why though as I'm expecting - not a lot!
Title: Sean Morrison Post by: swindon-chap on Monday, March 3, 2008, 19:07:34 On the Sean Morrison topic on thisis have you seen the comments?! Saying Malpas Out because he's called up a youth player.
Fuckinhell the posters on thisis are right cunts arent they. Bet they didn't have a go at Sturrock for playing Tozer did they? Title: Sean Morrison Post by: Simon Pieman on Monday, March 3, 2008, 19:12:46 Maybe Malpas is putting him on the bench because he's the only fit centre back?
Title: Sean Morrison Post by: lebowski on Monday, March 3, 2008, 19:18:21 Maybe Malpas is putting him on the bench because he thinks that our season is now over?
He'd be wrong, of course. Agree to a point, however I do believe that age is regardless, you have to warrant your place in the first team... otherwise get 'em out on loan and let them make their mistakes for a League 2 side. Title: Sean Morrison Post by: janaage on Tuesday, March 4, 2008, 08:55:06 Agree Dave but to be honest I'd rather see someone like Macklin get a chance than see the same old senior players play like amateurs each week.

Title: Sean Morrison Post by: glos_robin on Tuesday, March 4, 2008, 10:15:25 What worries me is that based on past form Malpas could start Morrison ahead of Ifil which will just further turn people against him...

Hes also not injury prone and can handle several games in a short time capacity. Title: Sean Morrison Post by: JOHNNY REEVES on Tuesday, March 4, 2008, 11:16:09 i think malpas will try allen in goal brezovan wide left cox central defence and roberts behind the sponsers bar.

Ok, its only one game, but I'd get him signed up on a nice long 3 or 4 year contract asap. Looks 10 times the player Tozer ever was. Title: Sean Morrison Post by: DMR on Saturday, May 3, 2008, 17:17:55 I actually think that for all his obvious physical attributes he looks like a bit of a shit defender.
Go on, shoot me down. Of course he's only 17 and, touch wood, will only improve. Certainly one for the future but not ready for the first team for a while yet. Title: Sean Morrison Post by: DV on Saturday, May 3, 2008, 17:22:43 I thought for the most part he looked very good and comfortable with the ball at his feet and barely let anyone get past him all game

His man got away from him a fair few times, and their man tore him a new arsehole in the first half with one run, which he stopped only by fallin on the ball.He got better as the game went on, but he didnt look much special.
Title: Sean Morrison Post by: Arriba on Saturday, May 3, 2008, 17:54:07 dave.he lost his balance,as he fell he managed to direct his body to block the ball.he then got up and had possesion of the ball and calmly got rid.i dont think he put a foot wrong all game.
the lad looks class to me Title: Sean Morrison Post by: Bogus Dave on Saturday, May 3, 2008, 17:57:26 He lost his balance because he was running round with his back to the ball not knowing where the player was! Then got fortunate that he fell on the ball

Title: Sean Morrison Post by: Arriba on Saturday, May 3, 2008, 18:07:52 i dont big players up for the sake of it.but how anybody can critisise his performance today is baffling.
for a 17 year old kid, he played like a pro of a few years experience.he doesn't panic.and for a 17 year old that is very promising as he will get better and better yet. and dave.it was no fluke that he came away with the ball when he lost his balance.it was good play that most of the crowd applauded. He had a really good game. He got lucky a couple of times with his inexperience. The first when he fell on the ball as the attacker had him inside out but he had the presence of mind once he got lucky to play the ball instead of panicking. He also got lucky where he misjudged the bounce of the ball. Saying that he deserved his luck. Looks a great prospect. As for Kanyuka - he looked crap didn't he? It was like looikng at a very earyl Ifill performance. I do think thuogh that he will come good and that Malpas has plucked out another gem. Title: Sean Morrison Post by: Bennett on Sunday, May 4, 2008, 11:51:57 i think he did well considering he had a fucking useless nob next to him at centreback.
i've decided i hate aljofree now, he was dog shit yesterday. Title: Sean Morrison Post by: janaage on Sunday, May 4, 2008, 11:55:01 Aljofree is shocking in the air, never realised this until yesterday. Morrison looked a lot better than him, I know it's only one game but bloody hell Hasney had a shocker.
I think I'd play Vincent in the centre before HA. Title: Sean Morrison Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, May 4, 2008, 11:56:22 Morrison has lots to learn but he looked miles better than Tozer ever did. Obviously that's only my deduction from seeing him play in one game.
What impressed me the most was that he wasn't afraid to bring the ball down and play it when he could, instead of continously punting the ball without looking up first. For a big lad he seems fairly mobile too. Title: Sean Morrison Post by: Luci on Sunday, May 4, 2008, 11:56:23 I agree that Hasney was pretty poor but I don't rate Vincent either.
Just hoofs it up in the air all the time. Title: Sean Morrison Post by: janaage on Sunday, May 4, 2008, 12:06:39 Vincents very good as centre half though, good at organising, reads the game well, he's an unsung hero. He kept getting dragged into the centre yesterday due to HA, which meant they had men left over on the back stick. We need to sort that out.
Title: Sean Morrison Post by: Luci on Sunday, May 4, 2008, 12:07:30 Hes better in the centre than at left back but I still don't think he's that good.
Title: Sean Morrison Post by: glos_robin on Sunday, May 4, 2008, 12:08:36 Agreed he had a good game yesterday and should be commended for managing to play well alongside captain useless (who apparently called Brez a useless cunt during yesterdays game can anyone confirm this?) alongside him. If he continues to develop like he has he will be a good player I think....may even be worth a punt trying Morrison and Ifil together pre-season as it's time for Ifil to become the senior head in defence. If it works it would mean we would have height, strength and mobility in defence which would give a solid foundation to build on.
Title: Sean Morrison Post by: Luci on Sunday, May 4, 2008, 12:11:15 If he called him that hes an idiot. How was Brez supposed to save a completely unmarked header.
On another note, I though Brez did very well yesterday and pulled off some great stops. Title: Sean Morrison Post by: Bennett on Sunday, May 4, 2008, 12:14:26 an unmarked header where al has followed the man the ball was never going to go to, i appreciate he's in a no-win position there but for fucks sake he'd have enough time to get another man across.
i don't think al should be captain, he appears to be far too blaming and as soon as we concede just look at his body language and he's such a stroppy tart in short, please shoot him Title: Sean Morrison Post by: glos_robin on Sunday, May 4, 2008, 12:16:30 Quote from: "STFCLady" If he called him that hes an idiot. I don't think it was for the goal ...apparently during the 1st half Brez picked up the ball and Aljofree then shouted that at him for no apparent reason........some bloody captain. Brez is starting to get back on form now if he continues to get his confidence back and develop especially regarding his kicking then thats keeper and central defence in good shape. Title: Sean Morrison Post by: DV on Sunday, May 4, 2008, 13:03:40 well JPM played well, so we have to find a new scapegoat for the game.
I didnt think Aljofree was that bad yesterday, everyone else seems to. I dont think he was overally troubled and Millwall rarely attacked untill we sat back and even then they didnt have many clear cut chances... Title: Sean Morrison Post by: reeves4england on Sunday, May 4, 2008, 15:02:17 Bit out of order if he did shout , but it sounds like it could be a load of bollocks.
I thought Morrison looked very competent yesterday and lood comfortable on the ball. Some promising signs and hopefully with a bui tmore experience he could comot going to get too over excited but he's almost certainly better than Tozer. Title: Sean Morrison Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Sunday, May 4, 2008, 16:10:56 Was impressed with the kid yesterday. He had a bit of presence about him. Bodes well for next season.
