cox did miss from 3 yards as well. you cant judge a game from how many shots a team has on target.  a shot from 30 yards that trickles into the keepers hands counts as a shot on target.

In time I might not agree, but you've totally missed the point. Malpas hasnt entirely convinced me either.....but I'm not going to over look performances and base my opinion soley on results.

We lost today, but played well....but alot of people seem to think we were shit today....but we quite clearly werent.

We have got 5 points in our last 7 matches. That is relaegation form. Malpas is the man!

regardless of us playing better today we have taken 1 point from 9 the  stats say we are playing shite. todays stats played well nil points. give us another 3-4 games before you could realy judge malpas.

spot on. easton is wasted on the right although i was impressed with allen, didn't look out of his depth and made some excellent challenges. once allen went off and easton moved centrally with jp out wide, we looked much more balanced and easton was on hand to mop up the second balls.

i'd rather have seen roberts or jp start on the right and zaaboub on the left with easton and peacock centrally. it's the most sensible option and the best option imo

It makes sense to me, Roberts just looks so awkward, and he really doesn't have a left foot at all.  Allen just looked a bit lightweight for a game of this type, I hardly noted his contribution during the first half, and his strength is meant to be his passing which given the hurricane conditions didn't come to the fore.  Potential is there but I felt he lacked a bit today.

I was impressed with Allen. I don't think he looked that lightweight and i'd like to see him start in centre mid with Peacock on Tuesday night.

Whether MM is the man or not its too early to judge. Things aren't going great at the moment. Is it MMs tactics or are the players just too thick to make simple changes to their game? I don't know. I'll start judging him properly Oct / Nov time. He's not won me over but he hasn't lost me yet either.

if you can back up that claim with proof I'll believe you

i dunno why Fitton has said Sturrock had no input into Malpas getting the job cos Fitton openly said before hiring Malpas that he had been in close contact with Sturrock since Sturrock had left.

I have no doubts that Sturrock had a hand in Malpas getting the interview but i personally think Malpas must have impressed Fitton more than the other candidates to get the job.

The way Bart and Marty McFly are talking its as though Sturrock said to Fitton give Malpas the job and he just said ok

there's a huge fucking difference between having some influence in the appointment and being solely responsible for it.

it's not beyond the realm of possibility that sturrock recommended malpas to the club or was involved somewhere down the line. i doubt he had it in his contract that his successor had to be malpas...

To be fair we werent too bad yesterday. We had 3 chances, they had one and scored. Game was shit, as usual under MM.

Malpas shouldn't have started Smith and shouldn't have put Easton on the right hand side. Poor decisions in my opinion. Wrong but not yet deserving of the sacking that some people are talking about.

It's entirely possible that any further contact could have been regarding Byrne, Williams or any other members of the remaining backroom staff, or any other aspect of the footballing side of the organisation. It could have even been - "how much do we owe you in unpaid salary ?"

sadly i think that's true. in spite of the frustration zaaboub causes, he's probably the best corner taker and puts crosses in from the left - unlike macnamee and roberts

That really really annoys me.  Frankly I'd rather Malpas left than Zaaboub. I like Sofi and he is definitely no worse than any of the other "wingers"  ( a term I lose loosley).

Agree to disagree, Zaboub flatters to deceive. He really hasn't impressed me this year, he seems pelutant (sp) this term, as shown on his sending off the other month.  No great loss to us, I'd rather play Macklin than Sofi the french tart.

all things about Zaaboub aside, he's set up the most goals this season....must count for something.
