If the Merlins that "Plastic"  funny how the people I see every week in there seem to make most home and away games.  Never any trouble in there either which is a bonus.

all football pubs have to serve beer in plastic glasses, it's the law, or so i'm told.

I think it's down to each local authority but you could well be right... the point is yes any sporting event will result in plastic glasses when they might be taken outdoors.

I suppose they're easier to maintain/clean and cheaper to get shit loads of as well, from a barmans perspective.

It's down to agreement between the specific pub and the Old Bill, although in the County's case they had to comply I think otherwise risk losing their Saturday license.
