.................Prices.

Wonder if any clubs (Including our own) take a leaf out of Bradfords book?

Average gates of 14000(?) for 4th division football.

I think it would risk financial suicide to follow suite. Never under estimate the apathy and indifference of the average Swindoner.

As far as apathy goes most of them can take it or leave it, but I don't believe they can be bothered to be indifferent as well.

I'll probably leave myself skint for a month by buying one when they come out. Not really sure yet though, been going on my own this season due to mates buggering off to uni / australia and it's not as fun as it used to be.

Season ticket prices are bound to go up IMO as they were frozen last season however they may have more options IE. Wings in the main stands etc.... like the trust suggested before (awaits smart ass comment about wings on the stands)

you could give out free season tickets in Swindon and we still wouldnt get a 14000 average. Problem is most people in Swindon arent origianlly from Swindon so dont give a fuck about the team. Much rather support Man yoo or Chelski

As I've said before, I don't mind differential pricing in the stands, but I'd expect to see it policed so that people didn't buy cheaper tickets then move over to premium areas.

Funnily enough i was thinking the same thing yesterday and was going to post it but you beat me too it. Think it would be a great idea. Don't think Fitton and Co will want to lose out on potential money though.

TBH I think season ticket prices will either be frozen again or go down. The new owners are well aware of the damage done in the last few years regarding prices overall, so their first job will be to encourage fans back and to make us a more fan friendly club.

I think that will apply to season ticket holders as well as  match day prices

Depends what league we're in doesn't it (although it's bound to be this one)?

Fitton wants the business to be run properly.  That means prices wont be going down.

Its been shown in the past with offers etc that STFC tickets are price in-elastic (is that a word?)  Cheaper tickets get an extra few hundred through the gate, but mean lower income overall.

The only way to improve attendances is to get a winning team. In Swindon its that simple I'm afraid.

wing tickets should be cheaper for sure.

I don't think prices will move, perhaps they may do away with extra for the on the day price, but other than that prices are probably ok for this divions, although a wing reduction would be welcome as previously and have it policed, but if they start doing lot's of offers during the season it de-values the benefit of getting a ST

I think the Junior Robins are promoted quite well.. Certainly seeing a hell of a lot of youngsters at the County Ground these days.

I'd generally agree with that - prices didn't move last season after promotion did they ? If that's the case it would be optimistic to have the same price 3 years in a row with a (presumably) higher placed club each season.

It is now a 'proper' business, and revenue will need to equal expenditure

so long as they dont solve this by increasing the prices of centre block tickets.

If they're serious about "re-connecting with the community" then increasing ticket prices is a step in the wrong direction.

Problem is that in the past when they run promotions they promote them in the programme, so the only extras they get are people who are may be dragged along by existing fans.  If they had a tie up with a radio station maybe, (thats one with a wider audience than hospital radio audiences like Brunel), it could be promoted properly.

Imho, to work properly a promotion has to be reasonably long term, & be targetted at those who have never been before or not for a long time.
Other than that, Long term the schools/ junior football clubs/ kid for a quid type promtions are the best. Lets face it if you've got the typical family moved in from out of town with Dad being a Chelski armchair fan, he is unlikely to take his kids to STFC, so if we can get others to take them they might end up as life long supporters.

Dont think prices will come down, but with the money at the club would be good if maybe 1 or 2 of the bigger matches away the club put on transport and rewarded someone who can produce ticket stubbs of home matches a free away ticket as well, know Charlton have done this at times.

The ticket prices are almost spot on for this division, I mean our top price pay on the day is £20.00 but £18.00 in advance where as Luton charge 21.00 or something stupid for a far worse view so...

That's true. Quite funny really, we were slagged off big time for our ticket prices not too long ago and most of the clubs that complained so much are now even more expensive.

Its true. Our prices were high a few years back, but they have actually gone down a bit in the last 3 years (i think?) whereas most other League 1 clubs seem to have reached our level or higher now

£18-20 for a seat where you can actually see both ends of the pitch is still too much, regardless of whether the rest of the league are ripping people off too.

The problem is that in the short term price reductions don't achieve anything. I guess in the long-term you might not lose as many fans during shit runs, and then get more back when you start doing well. But these things are difficult to show, and if you can rip off the hardcore 4,000 then theirs no point reducing the prices by half and only getting 6,000.

The current price is still easily enough to put me off, even when I was working.

Get a job that pays above minimum wage then.

Its too easy to use ticket prices as a stick to beat STFC with.  Its a problem throught all of football.

Whilst they are on a different level to us on the picth have you seen how much it costs to watch Chelsea / Arsenal
