Title: Losing Interest
Post by: yeo on Wednesday, February 20, 2008, 23:16:33
I am.

I lose interest most seasons to be honest but force myself through it.They seems to play better when I dont go which doesnt help.Maybe its the lack of things to moan about, maybe I just don't care enough :?

Does anyone else on here go through the same sort of thing?

Think i'll give Saturday a miss.

I know what you mean.

Circumstances change. Birdy and I will be living together soon, so next season will have to pick and choose our home games and will probably do more away games than home due to cost.

Still looking for a doggy!  :)

Yeah sometimes. I tend to find making thread about the top something or others  and posting loads of nondescript links to youtube cures it.

Then you'll want to go to the games....while Birdy gets the dinner ready for when you get back.

When i've felt like i'm losing enthusiasm to go, i've missed not going, regretted it and wished i was there.

i know what you mean orvil.
i mainly go out of habit. but the odd decent game makes it worthwhile overall.
the swansea and forest home games were great entertainment this season thus far.

I've only been twice this season, after getting a season ticket for about 8 years in a row. Really enjoyed both games and i miss it on Saturdays, when i'm usually doing fook all.

I'll definately be getting a season ticket next year

Birdy will do no such fucking thing!

I have lost interest also recently, I've got a season ticket but I've far too much other stuff going on. Footy is bottom of the list.  Also I miss Whits and Village, it isn't the same without them to laugh at  :(

I haven't lost interest as such, it's just that mid table mediocrity doesn't really breed excitement, you just find yourself waiting for the end of the season, therefore if anything interesting comes up as an alternative the lure is stronger than if we chasing promotion or trying to avoid the drop.

I couldn't get excited with all that Play Off talk a few weeks back as I didn't think we were good enough for that.  So the season is fading fast.

As for dogs go for a border collie, I love those dogs and that's what I'm gonna get when we move, my mrs is at home and I can spend my mornings/evenings throwing a stick and playing about with "Jesper".

Get a retired greyhound they are lazy as anything and when you walk them all you have to do is let them off the lead and they do all the work. 40 MPH couch potatoes.

RE: Dogs.

If I ever get a dog again then I will get another Chinese Shar-Pei. The one that I had was the nest dog that I have known, intelligent, gentle and with a wonderful tempermant. I still miss her.

I have a bit .. its been a bit boring under Malpas .. lack of excitement on the pitch (and probably off it too) - we look like a side going nowhere - either up or down ... and that leads to my apathy

Lets hope we win Saturday ..

Yeovil I get bored all the time - I think I am easily bored

my advice to you is book a holiday - somewhere like Eygpt where they dont have sky or anything then you can cut off completely from football and have a little rest - worked for me chicken

P.s if your short of someone to go with I will come with you? especially if you are paying

I certainly prefer going away and getting battered than watching us at home.

My enthusiasm this season died a bit when Malpas came in, no disrespect to him, and I'm now convinced we won't get in the playoffs. I'll enjoy the remaining games that I think will be a laugh... Leeds, Rovers, Gills etc but with the weather like it is at the mo and the cricket season not a million miles away I'll be windong down on the footy.

Not bothering this Saturday for example, going out in Cardiff on Friday then i'd rather leisure back and play golf on Saturday.

 8)

Probs won't bother at all after Leeds now.

Huzzah bank balance.

To be honest I am getting a bit bored with this season, I think it's because we are the ultimate mid-table team. Mind you I looked forward to Forest on sat and am looking forward to Leeds.

I guess it depends on your circumstances. Having only been to one game (Hartlepool just before Xmas) in nearly four years, I'm somewhat chomping at the bit.....tickets booked for Leeds, yay  :beers:

For me it gets abit boring when you go to matches like Forest and know deep down it will be the same ol outcome, even going to Barnet i had this feeling that we wouldnt go through,it frustrates you.

Surely you've learnt by now that the life of a Swindon fan is not a happy one?
