 I think I was 23 and living in London, when I first encountered an avocado...didn't have things like that in Swindon.

 Didn't have a clue what you were supposed to do with it mind.  Subsequently  I realised  that sliced, the bit where the stone had been made it an ideal fit for a bodily "plate"

I forgot to mention, I don't like Marmite, Salad Cream, Mayo, Paste.

BLT (with hot bacon) baguette with mayo. Or tuna mayo and cheese on white. Lovely.

No, no it's not.

For a good homemade sandwich, using nothing but good old fashioned sandwich ingredients:

2 x big cuts of white bread
Cheese
Tomato
Ham (preferably Wiltshire)
Lettuce
Red Onion
Cucumber
Mayonnaise (if you're feeling adventurous, substitute for sweet onion relish)

cut out the tomato and cucumber and add in rocket / spinach / watercress and thats perfect.

Banana and sugar.....reminds me of my days as a lad....oh and a drizzle of honey.

Some posh sandwich shops put olive oil on the bread when they make your sandwich. I found that strange.

i use olive oil spread. it's slightly plasticy but actually breaks down unlike margarine.

I meant actual olive oil. Wouldn't it make the bread soggy? I never found out.
