I'm bored. Do you reckon it's possible to make meth out of stuff I can find around the house? Or any other mood altering substance?

I've found a few tineternet recipes but they all seem a bit complicated.  :( .

Meth is some mad shit. Its one of those drugs that you seem to be able to do constantly, whilst still going about your life (Work and stuff) and thinking that everything is normal. But one day you stop the 6 month habit and hey-ho, you look back on events and you realise to what a fucked up, spaced out moody aggressive freak you really where. If it isn't obvious I am speaking from experience.

I'd still have the odd dabble though, in moderation of course. It is a pleasant high and the sex could almost be worth an addictive habit.

You'd probably make a few quid with your own lab as well Ben, just be sure though not to smoke the profits.

Years ago I had a mate, who was a sort of mad chemist, he worked for Roussel....I'm not sure Roussel is still there, but he used to knock up all sorts of stuff.  Eventually he got found out and fired.

  Morning glory seeds were always supposed to be worth a try....so I did.  Woofed down about 4 packets and laid there with nothing much more than a gurgling gut to show for the effort.

 Ever tried home brew fB?  I used to do some, bit of expense on the basic kit, but after that its dead cheap to make ale....I used to get some decent results.  Never tried making wine, but my father used to do it and get some drinkable stuff.

But seriously, how much does one have to drink and over what time period to become physically dependant on alcohol.

I ask this because I drink a crate of beer almost every week day, and sometimes more beer and spirits at the weekend and am therefore quite conscious about my drinking habits.

Yet I often test myself with a few days - 1 week or so "Drying out", and feel no cold turkey effects whatsoever and if anything I feel the benefits of not being hungover the next day.

Seriously, alcoholics must really cane it to get a problem.

My old man used to make his own home brew when I was about 6. He was forever fucking up and ending up with some horrific acidic vinegary shit, so he employed me as his chief tester. Put me off ale for life.

Its still a pharmaceutical  company so im told.

I've considered it, although it's one of those things which is easier to think about than actually getting started.

In my final attempt of a year at uni, one of my mates made some cider. I always used to be sceptical about tales of lethal home brew; being generally of the opinion that it was probably a placebo effect of a home brew = bad attitude. This stuff got be pretty battered after 4 pints and I wasn't averse to drinking bottles of the old white ace / frosty jacks / other example of tramp drink at the time.

How much does somebody need to drink, and in what timeframe for them to become clinically alcoholic??????

 My tramp drink used to be sweet fruity wine, that lived in plastic barrells in the local off licence....you had to fill up your own bottle.  Dirt cheap....blackcurrant was my favourite, like a cross between ribena and cough mixture.   Speaking of which, a bottle of benylin can give you a fair hit.

Interesting question - I don't have an answer but I'm hoping somebody has!  I can happily drink a bottle of wine an evening which is about 9 units so 62 units a week which is more than double the "safe" limit for a bloke.  I don't get the urge to drink at lunchtime or at breakfast just in the evening so I wouldn't classify my self as alcohol dependant.  But if the limits are right I'm not doing my liver any favours

So you get through a bottle of wine a night. Which as you rightly say is too much (Although we are probably talking long long term effects, kindneys liver and stuff).

So if a person like myself who weighs about 10 stone, drinks a crate of beer a night with optional spirits at the weekend, for several months (With the occassional break).

How many bottles in a crate and what size are the bottles.??  I had a think about this from another angle - how many nights have I had without a bottle of wine over the past 5 years?  About 3!! and I'm about the same weght and size as you by the sound of it.  I reckon I'm probably more psychologically addicted to booze than physically as when I'm out and driving I won't touch a drop until the car is safely tucked away

Its very easy to become dependant on things, be it drugs or alcohol.  Some peopel will often lapse and go back onto things if bad things happen in life, be it stress break up of a relationship, family issues etc.

Things are ok in moderation, just make sure you are in control of the things instead of the things being in controld of you.  I could get extremely deep on here but as its public its best not too.

Bloody right, hence why I have sympathy for addicts in some circumstances.

Alcohol I would say is easy to get addicted too, an example when your back froma  weeks holiday you feel depressed as your not drinking when you get back

Been doing some research on nutmeg. Most sources seem to suggest to grind it up (yourself not the preground stuff) and eat 1-2tablespoons worth. But the effects are supposed to take a fair few hours and it's supposed to a bit like having the flu.

I might snort some instead to see what happens.

Snorting Vodka or sambuca hurts but do it with Peper and you get some fucked up effects on the brain

Myristicin is the pyschoactive firkin - can be converted into MMDA like safrole  (sassafras oil) can be converted into MDMA apparently according to wiki (take it as you wish)

I think I got as far as trying to dry out some in the airing cupboard or something. I think they just went a bit mouldy and smelt bad though so it was a bit of a disaster.

I tried smoking tea once, it was looking like a nice tea spliff until I picked it up and the entire contents fell out through the roach end. The upside was that I was left with an empty spliff which made a good ornament.
