Title: Job Interviews Post by: Power to people on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, 17:23:13 Right, I'm angry....had a job interview a few weeks ago had a chat and the job sounded ok along the lines of what I do now and possibly a little bit more, got offered a second interview..great I think must be in with a good chance.
Go there today for 2nd interview sit down he shows me the job spec with the wages and package on offer, and they have obviously changed it and now it is a junior role which takes the piss. So I obviously tell them where to stick it.....quickest 2nd interview I've ever had ! must have been in there for less than a minute. The job we discussed 1st time round was not a job for a junior - what didn't they tell me before now tey had changed it instead of wasting my time. Title: Job Interviews Post by: leefer on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, 17:54:39 Always ask the package and position at the first interview,if they dont tell you its usually not worth having anyway...good luck with the next one.
Title: Job Interviews Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, 18:05:18 Fair play for telling them to stick it. But were you actually aware of what the role on offer was after your first interview? Things can sound different. don't forget employers always big up any role and make it sound appealing to any possible candidate.
Title: Job Interviews Post by: BANGKOK RED on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, 21:27:17 I would have asked them if the job that was offered on the 2nd interview has a "Ladder". I would have no complaints starting from a lower level (Within reason) and working my way up from there becuase I would have confidence enough in myslef to progress pretty damned quick.
Maybe they were just testing you????? Title: Job Interviews Post by: Power to people on Wednesday, February 6, 2008, 14:14:01 I knew exatly what the job was that I applied for as I saw the advertisment and it didn't say junior and there is no way that this was a junior role that we discussed 1st time round - a role that I first performed about 10-15 years ago - this would have suited someone with only 2 or 3 yrs experience in IT, not someone like me with over 15 years experience.
I suppose you learn by your experiences though and I won't be applying back there for a job - good interview experience though, taught me that I need to brush up on the finer points of activ directory. Title: Job Interviews Post by: McLovin on Wednesday, February 6, 2008, 14:18:33 What job was it? i might apply...

Not a job interview as such but I've been asked to do a 10 minute presentation on your weakest point and how you intend to overcome it. My dilema is shall I be honest and risk being torn to shreds over my plan, or do I play it safe and pick something I could improve on but am not too bad at. Also what is the stock answer given on these sort of questions? Title: Re: Job Interviews Post by: fittons_coaching_badge on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, 09:48:44 Play it safe. Something you are weak at but can come up some easy ways of correcting it.
What in gods name is this for? Title: Re: Job Interviews Post by: DMR on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, 09:54:38 Just tell them you're the fucking dogs danglies and that you respectfully ask they don't waste your valuable working time with such nonsense.
