erm, could add more trains, or make them longer??  They charge enough and 2 times above inflation on price increases to add more trains and improve service, well they have done this for 3 years and loads of trains are cancelled and there is no proof they have improved services infact its got worse, hence why Worst Great Western have had to double their compensation because they are so shit. Doubling compensation is them admitting they are a shambles.

The government bangs on about using public transport instead of cars to protect the environment and all that but the ticcket prices hardly make it a cheaper and more attractive proposition do they?

Driving is for gays.

I like going on the train. You can drink and as long as you're not in a hurry delays don't matter much either.

Sitting and chilling out with a can of strongbow and pokemon/zelda/tetris on the gameboy can't be beaten.

It can be beaten quite easily, such as by driving to the place you want to go directly which is both quicker and cheaper in most cases.

How's that fun?

Worst Late Western, surely.

I've never really thought they were too bad, all down to personal experiences I suppose.

Dave they are terrible from 3 ish til 6.30 from London, especially on Fridays.  I used to use them quite a bit through work, glad I never paid for the tickets as it's a rip off.

In summer, standing up all the way from London to Swindon is not fun, especially when the air cons broke and you can't open the windows.  And it cost nearly £100 for the pleasure.

I love travelling on the Train.

Oooh, the other ace thing about trains is the random crazy people you can end up chatting to. Unless they're old ladies and you're still a bit fucked from the night before.

Isn't the major problem the lack of lines going into London, basically it needs to be doubled or more at certain points but can't be without major investment on the Network.  It does seem utterly crazy that it is deemed safe to stand in crowded carriages going 125mph, i mean can you imagine if Ryanair could have standing on planes?
