Title: Malpas in talks with Swindon duo Post by: DV on Friday, January 25, 2008, 12:05:09 well, it obviously is...
Title: Malpas in talks with Swindon duo Post by: Arriba on Friday, January 25, 2008, 12:16:54 of course we should be looking to keep the pair of them.

Progressive, promotion-chasing teams would be after better... Spot on, sometimes i wish the bloke was a cunt so people would start judging him on his ability,Title: Malpas in talks with Swindon duo Post by: Arriba on Friday, January 25, 2008, 12:29:20 i judge him on abilty and what he brings to the side.i have slated him before to be fair.
but i think he would be a decent squad member even if we went up.maybe not a week in week out player but worth a year imo Title: Malpas in talks with Swindon duo Post by: red macca on Friday, January 25, 2008, 12:32:06 Quote from: "arriba" i judge him on abilty and what he brings to the side.i have slated him before to be fair. I agree arriba as a squad player yes and even what he brings for morale etc, but if we are aiming for promotion this year or next then we need better, Defence is ok, keeper is ok,with cox and others we can score goals so that leaves only one position that seems to cause us a problem imobut i think he would be a decent squad member even if we went up.maybe not a week in week out player but worth a year imo Title: Malpas in talks with Swindon duo Post by: janaage on Friday, January 25, 2008, 12:34:57 During our last league 1 play off season would you have selected Peacock (or Roberts) in our first team? Would they have added anything?
LP is a squad player, but not regular first teamer. Robbo is neither nowadays. he needs a new challenge elsewhere. Title: Malpas in talks with Swindon duo Post by: Arriba on Friday, January 25, 2008, 12:41:29 peacocks had a couple of good years to his credit. i take your point janagge and agree to a point.
but i think apart from our forwards that year, our team is better now. i think we will see a few exit the door at the seasons end.but we dont need to cull a few of them.both the minge and peacock are 2 to hang onto imo Title: Malpas in talks with Swindon duo Post by: sonic youth on Friday, January 25, 2008, 13:35:52 i don't care what peacock is like as a person, my opinion is based solely on his performances in a town shirt and i think he's one of our better players.

Fully agree on that. He's certainly better than Pook in CM, as proved last week against Forest. Title: Malpas in talks with Swindon duo Post by: JPC82 on Friday, January 25, 2008, 14:03:59 Peacock is class

In centre midfield yes and whys that ? pook and adams thats why biatchTitle: Malpas in talks with Swindon duo Post by: sonic youth on Friday, January 25, 2008, 14:10:54 no, in the whole side.
his work ethic is second to none and he's effective at breaking up play, putting pressure on the opposition, he's strong in the tackle and wins the ball and uses it well. Title: Malpas in talks with Swindon duo Post by: red macca on Friday, January 25, 2008, 14:12:07 But imo Easton is better at that and we don’t need to of them, squad player yes
I have spoken now take it in sonic Title: Malpas in talks with Swindon duo Post by: sonic youth on Friday, January 25, 2008, 14:15:22 i'd rather have easton and peacock in the middle rather than easton and a.n. attackingmidfielder who invariably runs hot and cold and provides nothing defensively
Title: Malpas in talks with Swindon duo Post by: Flea on Friday, January 25, 2008, 19:07:53 Peacock is class great leader and good in the air !

Progressive, promotion-chasing teams would be after better... Peacock is better than average and does alot of work for the team. In the games he's missed injured we've lost all but one of them - coincidence...not he adds alot of steal to the midfield and he wins shit loads in the air. He's played shit loads of games in this division, at the top end of this of division and he's even had seasons in the Championship Quote from: "janaage" During our last league 1 play off season would you have selected Peacock (or Roberts) in our first team? Would they have added anything? LP is a squad player, but not regular first teamer. Robbo is neither nowadays. he needs a new challenge elsewhere. Peacock is a better midfielder than Matthew Hewlett. Strong, more effort, more energy, better distribution, better in the tackle, better in the air, better leader, more vocal etc etc I could go on. Also, whilst we were in the play offs you also have to remember that Peacock was playing for the Bristol City team that finished above us and narrowly missed out on automatic promotion - on more than one occasion Quote from: "red macca" But imo Easton is better at that and we don’t need to of them, squad player yes I have spoken now take it in sonic no, we do need the two of them.....makes it harder to get past our midfield.....the creativity and the forward attacking play should come from the wings. |
