Does anyone else think this is the stupidest chant ever?

They are famous. They get 20,000 to games and sign the biggest names at this level apart from Leeds. Would we have had 9,800 if say we were playing Oldham? not likely. Maybe 6,500 for a shit day, I know it was mo's start and the takeover is done but still nowhere near  9,800 (although I thought it was more than that)

Not really. I disagree with that. When you say Notts Forest to someone what do you think of? 2 times Euro champs? No a league one team.

loads of chants are a bit daft though really aint they?
"wanker wanker wanker" chanted by wankers, for instance is a bit ironic.
singing"we are fittons red and white army" when we have a new boss i find a bit daft too.
add the "when skys are grey,and red and white"to the list.and the "piece of string" one aswell.

Most chants like that don't stand up to rigorous analysis, they're a bit of a wind-up, designed to get under the opposition's skin. Which clearly worked. Job done.

I prefer 'who the fucking hell are you'.

I think 'You're shit and you know you are' would have been more apt yesterday.

On a different note, I was a bit surprised that Calderwood didn't get more acknowledgement from the crowd. I know it was difficult what with it being Mo's first game in charge, but a short 'Oh, Colin, Colin...' wouldn't have hurt at the beginning of the match. And a bit more about one of the greatest players to ever wear a Town shirt in the programme wouldn't have gone amiss, either.

Thaught it was a great chant,just cos they get 20,000 dont mean they are famous,this is a personal opinion but i dont like teams like Forest,i went there last year and there stewards are morons,like most of there fans who were whining about the ref on ther forums...like they dont get everything going for them at home,and on the same subject it was great to see Leeds lose and it was a sweet moment for Niel Sullivan after wanker wise,s comments on him being useless,Wanker,Wanker, Wanker springs to mind!

I am guilty of singing the dam-busters theme tune whilst playing Manure, with arms out to signify a plane's wings and all that.

On reflection I know now just how stupid and un-funny it was yet i was a young lad at the time, and I didn't completely understand what it meant. more worrying was that the majority of others doing it where grown men who completely understood the significance behind it all, a bunch of tossers really.

There was a big group of Forest singing 'Swindon Town is full of shit' on the way down from the Merlin.
