Title: Todays Ref... Post by: JPC82 on Saturday, January 19, 2008, 21:03:34 was pretty good to be fair, obviously the Paynter advantage/free kick 'goal' was questionable but overall he was good, must better than the usual shit we get

Title: Todays Ref... Post by: dell boy on Saturday, January 19, 2008, 21:38:57 Mr Thorpe what a novely of a ref, superb, could not fault him in anyway.
What about that outragous dive by Tyson, other refs would have given something. He deserves a round of applause today, referee 10 out of 10. Title: Todays Ref... Post by: Batch on Saturday, January 19, 2008, 21:41:47 If you want to be picky to the letter of the law he let a couple of late tackles go that should have been yellows. But given the conditions I think that was common sense, though I'm not sure FIFA allow refs to use common sense so he might be assessed down for it!
Title: Todays Ref... Post by: Luci on Sunday, January 20, 2008, 16:21:34 I thought he may have booked Tyson for diving if he didnt give the pen to be honest. Its either a pen or a card.
Why he didn't play on for Paynters goal was beyond me however all in all best ref of the season and some very good decisions. Title: Todays Ref... I thought he did book Tyson...I may be wrong...it has been known  As for the 'goal', once the ref blew (when it did look like Paynter had stumbeld) the Forest defence and keeper stopped, so maybe Paynter would not have been able to get the shot off in the first place. Must agree with the concensus here, the ref was top, best I've seen for years, let's hope we get him again. Title: Todays Ref... Title: Todays Ref... Post by: SwindonTartanArmy on Monday, January 21, 2008, 10:44:27 First decent ref I can remember at the County ground in years. Even the Lino's werent bad. Cant really fault him for blowing up before paynters "goal" who else would have expected him to bury it in the net instead of clearing the town end?
Title: Todays Ref... Post by: DMR on Monday, January 21, 2008, 12:16:32 Thorpe and Mr Friend are always alright.
It's that cunt Lee Mason and Darren Deadman who always seem to stitch us. Title: Todays Ref... Post by: Spencer_White on Monday, January 21, 2008, 12:27:48 I was down near the bank, and the Tyson shout was a stonewall 100 per cent penalty. Im not suprised he went mental. Why does a player taking a fall have to be yellow card for diving? Football is a contact sport and players do fall over sometimes and theres no wrong doing either way.
Back to the ref, after he ruled out one and we had one stuck in the mud I dont think he could bare to give it. |
