Better that than having to make a terrible decision later on. Apparently stats are 1 in 3 pregnancies miscarry. Title: Lily Allen Post by: SwindonTartanArmy on Friday, January 18, 2008, 14:35:05 Sad news, but she is still shit and needs a slap around the head

Title: Lily Allen Post by: pumbaa on Friday, January 18, 2008, 22:56:13 Not a fan of her or her work, but I certainly know exactly the feelings and emotions that both she and her partner are experiencing right now, and I wouldn't wish them on anybody. Good luck Lily, chin up love.

Shocking, 1 in 3, fuck me thats tragic Title: Lily Allen Post by: Fred Elliot on Friday, January 18, 2008, 23:04:39 thats truth
My ex is a midwife and some of the stories she told were heartbreaking Title: Lily Allen Post by: Bushey Boy on Friday, January 18, 2008, 23:11:23 Seriously I had no idea, jesus weep
Title: Lily Allen Post by: pumbaa on Friday, January 18, 2008, 23:28:25 The thing is, its not something you ordinarily think about, and its certainly not something that's a headline grabber unless it happens to someone famous like Lily. The stats are incredibly high, and thats based only on those reported through a GP or specialist. I wouldn't be surprised if the numbers were much higher in all honesty.
I really don't know what Lily's going through (as I'm not and never have been female), but I've been there and done that with the wife, and it ranks up there as one of the most distressing experiences of your life. Especially when you and your significant other want kids so desperately. Then to reward them for being stupid slags we give 'em a house.
Life is Brilliant!! Title: Lily Allen Post by: Bushey Boy on Friday, January 18, 2008, 23:50:35 It isnt always as cut and shut DV, if you wanna come meet some young women who have made a mistake and then have to live with it for the rest of their lives living on the breadline while wanting to change their lives I will show you, it might make you open your eyes a bit.
Saying that how creating a life is a mietake is beyond me Title: Lily Allen Post by: Samdy Gray on Friday, January 18, 2008, 23:52:03 Quote from: "Bushey Boy" Saying that how creating a life is a mietake is beyond me Here here. All life is precious, no matter how the person has been brought into the world. Title: Lily Allen Post by: DV on Friday, January 18, 2008, 23:52:29 Whilst im aware its not as cut and dry as that....
.....you see all these people with children they probably didnt plan or want....and then you've got a loving married couple who for whatever reason cant have kids.... Title: Lily Allen Post by: pumbaa on Friday, January 18, 2008, 23:55:46 Bushey's right, its not always as clear cut as you'd like to think.
What pisses me off are those who have no real desire to have kids, but just see them as a fashion accessory, and those who have so many they can't look after them properly. I have examples of both in my extended family, and it annoys me so much when Rach and I have struggled so much with no end product, and at vast personal expense. But, as they say, thats life. You play the hand you're dealt and get on with it. Title: Lily Allen Post by: Bushey Boy on Friday, January 18, 2008, 23:57:29 agreed 100% my sister had major problems, then tried other ways, gota boy in teh end after 20k worth of cost and years of heartbreak, they hope to have a 2nd but my word they dont take that for granted.
Hope you and rach get there in the end mate Title: Lily Allen Post by: pumbaa on Saturday, January 19, 2008, 00:02:00 It won't happen. We've been through four IVF cycles, all failed. No good reason why either. That said, when you go into the procedures, you know the success rates are still down around the 30% rate - which in itself is staggering once you understand the care and attention to detail the process involves. Frankly, we've decided that we can't deal with the physical (on her part, my bits fairly straightforward and pleasurable) and emotional torment any more.
As soon as we get home, we'll be starting adoption procedures - its now our mission in life to give some children who have had a difficult start in life through no fault of their own a loving a stable home and upbringing. Its our calling, if you like.... Title: Lily Allen Post by: Bushey Boy on Saturday, January 19, 2008, 00:05:36 Quote from: "pumbaa" It won't happen. We've been through four IVF cycles, all failed.
