Trevor Anderson was a good winger, I had forgotten about him...Northern Ireland international ex Man Ure.

Walters absolutely definitely. And based on his performances during his first dozen or so games, I would say Bobby Barnes.

This one is a lot more straightforward....if we're to have 2 proper wide men, then DR is in for the no 11 shirt.   The number 7 is a bit more problematic,  Mike Summerbee was a class act, Ian Miller was great fun, but  not quite of the required class and Mark Walters was.

   Mossy was a bit unfortunate in that he stepped up just after Don had gone and sufferd a bit by comparison, but was a very good player, had he been around a bit later think he'd have been better appreciated.

    Think I'd go for Walters on the basis of spreading the players out over time.

    "Animal" Williams  wasn't so much a winger as a wide midfield player, like a Zaaboub.

Animal took us for football training at North Star when at Swindon College - a decent bloke who didnt have much more skill than the rest of us, but had a nice little temper! Top wingers would have to be Don Rogers and David Moss

Don and Mike Summerbee for me. Walters was a great signing for Swindon but already past his best when he put on the red shirt of Town. Don and Mike wore the red shirt in their prime.

Walters and Rogers.  Never saw the latter but you don't have cult status for no reason

Summerbee sen and Don Rogers.Walters was good but too near the end of his career for me.Dave Moss was worth a shout but if your looking for players who suffered by comparison to Rogers,you could mention Chris Porter who made an electric start to his Town career but faded badly and quickly.Tommy Jenkins,Rogers' actual replacement never had a hope.

 Tommy Jenkins.....wizard of the dribble, take on players all the time, just had no idea what to do at the end of it all.

reg, can you explain to me whether an inside forward would be considered a winger in modern terms?

No-an inside forward would be your equivalent to centre mid young Youth or a deep lying centre forward a la Beardsley.Or John Smith from our league cup winning side.
