He was a privateer who must have been racing in his 80's and that was about 10 years ago. He must have popped now Title: Death Predictions 2008 Post by: Gelbfüßler on Wednesday, April 9, 2008, 21:20:12 Hamish Irvine was 1995! When the new 'Super Touring' regulations came into force and he was just in his 'straight off the road' Peugeot 405 getting lapped about 6 times a race 8)
Hamish Irvine was no hero of mine. Title: Death Predictions 2008 Post by: tans on Wednesday, April 9, 2008, 21:23:49 I used to think he was ace. I asked him if his name was Homo, he didnt like that..
Ian Heward was another, racing a four year old car, he was even worse 8) Title: Death Predictions 2008 Post by: Gelbfüßler on Wednesday, April 9, 2008, 21:24:36 The worst of all time was Patrick Watts, surely!
Title: Death Predictions 2008 Post by: tans on Wednesday, April 9, 2008, 21:25:27 I think he won a race.
I played golf with Tim Harvey too. Title: Death Predictions 2008 Post by: Gelbfüßler on Wednesday, April 9, 2008, 21:26:57 :o actually? That is quality. I swear my all-time favourite team and driver line-up was Rydell and Harvey in the Volvo 850. 8)

WTCC has taken over the mantle as the world's top touring car series, after the BTCC had held it for so long.
Title: Death Predictions 2008 Post by: flammableBen on Wednesday, April 9, 2008, 21:43:59 I think all motor sport drivers will die within the year. You talking about motor sport yeah? When the revolution comes etc.
Title: Death Predictions 2008 Post by: Gelbfüßler on Wednesday, April 9, 2008, 21:45:26 Is this your motorsport revolution with zoo animals and stuff?
Title: Death Predictions 2008 Post by: flammableBen on Wednesday, April 9, 2008, 21:47:56 Quote from: "Karlsruhe_Red" Is this your motorsport revolution with zoo animals and stuff? Too right. But I couldn't afford the redundancy pay off which would come from putting them all out of work. They'd have to change their jobs to Lion and Tiger test drivers. Title: Death Predictions 2008 Post by: tans on Wednesday, April 9, 2008, 21:48:01 I know someone who works for the WTCC.
Lucky bitch. Title: Death Predictions 2008 Post by: Northern Red on Thursday, April 10, 2008, 12:18:32 I know a sponsor of the BTCC and I'm off to Rockingham at the weekend for free.
I've never been to Rockingham - any recommendations? That Volvo Estate was mental - although does anyone remember Kelvin Burt trying to kill himself in it one race? I never really liked Menu and his two terrible cars the Ford Mondeo and Renult Laguna - ugliest cars ever in the BTCC. I think I hated the foreigners in the BTCC - Biela can be added to the list, along with Aiello (although I sat with his wife and kid one race and she was quite nice), Larini... FB and LA turned up for one season won it and disappeared again - I thought Gio would've done the same. And Plato's a twat - I'm hoping he goes this year - perhaps stays in the car when it's alright this time around. Title: Death Predictions 2008 Post by: Gelbfüßler on Thursday, April 10, 2008, 12:38:29 As I stopped going to touring cars in 2001 I have never been to Rockingham. Looks like if you get in any of the stands on the oval you can see the whole track though, so that is a bonus.
Biela was ace and was in it for 2 years (1996 - champion, 1997), so there! I loved the way Toca kept trying to weigh down the A4 Quattro. Biela was replaced by Yvan Muller in 1998 and he was awesome.
