Title: Leeds game ticket priority Post by: Phil_S on Friday, January 11, 2008, 17:46:39 Why is it that members of the supporters club get priority for tickets for the Leeds game (on the official site).
I might be out of order here & have nothing against the supporters club itself, but I'm a bit annoyed that members of the TRUST aren't getting the same priority. The supporters club never did anything to support the new owners & get rid of the old. If it were the old regime, I'd just put it down to them being petty & bloody minded, but I do hope that this is not the brainchild of the new regime. Or am I just being a bit touchy here Title: Leeds game ticket priority Post by: herthab on Friday, January 11, 2008, 17:51:23 I'm not a member of the official supporters club but, at the end of the day, they are officially aligned to the club.
It seems perfectly reasonable to me tbh.................... Title: Leeds game ticket priority Post by: STFC_Gazzza on Friday, January 11, 2008, 17:54:00 http://www.thetownend.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26465

And they've often done this for ticket priority stuff in the past. Title: Leeds game ticket priority Post by: dell boy on Friday, January 11, 2008, 19:44:28 The only way my lad could get a Leeds ticket was to book Northampton tickets first, then he could also purchase Leeds tickets.
So if you want to book your Leeds tickets tomorrow you know what to do. Both organisations represent the fans and do their bit for the club. To choose one and not the other because one is "official" seems a bit limp particualrly given the membership size of the Trust. I would hope both groups would be valued equally. In the scheme of things its not a major issue, nor should raising the issue be seen as having a moan at the new owners. Just because the old regime did it this way is no reason for the new owners to follow suit and hopefully once they get settled in we will see changes in the way fans are treated and consulted with. Title: Leeds game ticket priority Post by: Arriba on Saturday, January 12, 2008, 23:50:53 is it likely to sell out?
i think all the regulars will get tickets if they want them Title: Re: Leeds game ticket priority Post by: deltaincline on Sunday, January 13, 2008, 00:02:11 This mental fucking ticketing policy in favour of the SC members for the Leeds game must be a hangover from the old board, surely? Can't see Fitton wanting to marginalise the trust after they paved the way for him to take over - and the SC chairman was so against change that he posted cuntish messages on here over the summer!
Mind, new chief exec Watkins has been in office long enough to have cast his eye over it, so maybe it's been approved by the new board and they don't give a flying fuck about the trust. Someone must know something. Title: Leeds game ticket priority Post by: flammableBen on Sunday, January 13, 2008, 00:07:29 I don't really see how it's marginalising the trust. Surely Ticket priorities and stuff is well outside the reasons for the trusts existance, whilst it's well within the remit of the Supporters club.
It's not like the Supporters Club and the Trust are 2 rival organisations, there's no reason you can't be a member of both. I think people are far to stuck into some sort of us and them mentality. Either that seem to think that Fitton and co owe the trust something. They've already done their bit by taking over. Which was sort of the point all along. Erm, yes, but then there's always been a tradition of being an SC member being the last qualifiying stage for getting included in ticket priority (although the old lot quite often forgot about it), there has been no such tradition with the Trust. As Frasier3 says (well kind of), the acid test is more going to be in terms of genuine dialogue. Put it this way - I'd be a lot more unhappy if the new owners refused to talk to the Trust about any serious issues but gave all Trust members top priority for getting tickets to the Leeds game. Either way, I don't see this as something for people to get all bent out of shape over - maybe give the new regime more than a day or so to get up and running before people start looking for snubs. Title: Leeds game ticket priority Post by: mattboyslim on Sunday, January 13, 2008, 10:02:53 It's classic policy to make you buy a ticket for a lesser game to ensure you get one for a bigger game, and if you're not a ST holder you've pretty much gotta do it. There is enough home tickets for this game for twice our average attendance pretty much so I suspect anyone who really wants one will be able to with ease. If you leave it late or buy on match day you might struggle but TBH that's pretty much going to be your own fault.
Title: Leeds game ticket priority Post by: pumbaa on Sunday, January 13, 2008, 13:46:05 I'm with Mr Davis on all this. I hope, that as I'm unlikely to get to a home game before Leeds, that I'm able to get two tickets..... :|
Title: Leeds game ticket priority Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, January 13, 2008, 13:47:06 I'm sure you'll be ok. All the fairweather fans won't know about the ticket priority thing, should they all come to watch the Leeds game.

Title: Leeds game ticket priority Post by: Phil_S on Tuesday, January 15, 2008, 10:32:32 I wasn't going to get all bent out of shape over it, as I will get a ticket no probs. I wouldn't join the Supporters club, on principle as Mr Bennet publically critisised people such as myself, in his outburst supporting Diamandis & co.
What I am keen to see, is a building of bridges between the club & the TRUST. I jyst don't see this type of ticketing policy helping that. But, maybe it's just a hangover from the old regime. (They ARE gone aren't they ?) |
