If had a few good one's, but if I had to choose then I would say it was selling timeshare in Phuket.

I was with a good company (Not scam-artists), who had a great product to sell. Before my first month was over I got a warning that I was going to get sacked (I was useless), but then the next day I got a lucky deal which gave me the confidence that I needed and after that I was always in the top 3 (Out of 15) sales people.

Meeting new people, who where on their holiday was, and never will be boring and I got to me some fascinating people. I remember meeting one bloke who was a BBC camera man who tottered about with David Attenborough for his documentry's (sp). Considering that I love wildlife and stuff I could have listened to this bloke non-stop for a week.

The job itself consisted mainly of chatting and having a laugh with these people, to relax them and selling to them without them knowing it. And one reason that I love face to face sales is that you can physically see people being sold I.E. People changing from an arms crossed, leaning back position to an open armed, leaning forward position ect. I loved that so much that I got called into the office one day for smirking whilst on deck.

I never forget the day also that I made a grown man cry. I did nothing wrong to them in the slightest, asides was outwit them. When my boss came to my desk and asked for the money, he said no and when asked for a good reason why not he couldn't he could not give one and started weeping purely out of fustration. I should also tell you that both him and his wife where Investment Bankers and where therefore both well clever and minted. That couple bought nothing, yet I was still given about 100 quid as a bonus, just for doing a blinding job.

There ya go. And my god was this post not quite a bit longer than my "Worst job thread", I think that says alot about a good job don't it.

mine is now, gone from near bottom to pretty high up in 1billion+ company  in 3 years, and just spent all day on the piss, free in west london ,with 3 more days to go, and i'm just going back out for more

Mine was years ago, only for about 1 month, but i loved it.

I was employed to work in Digital (Compaq latterly) in Holborn, nights from 7pm until 7am stripping out electrics and then refitting. We used to go in at 7, do some work, go down the pub for a few hours, then go back to work. We'd finish the nightly quota by about 2am, then go back to bed in Golders Green.

We'd have all day free with full expenses. We'd just go to the Trocadero or something and play on the arcades all day. It was peak summer, so we'd also spend time lounging around with the odd pint and watching ladies. It was fucking superb!

Sometimes we'd finish late, so we'd sit on the roof of the building and make paper aeroplanes and all kinds of crap to throw off the top as the sun came up. The money was good and there was no bosses involved. It was a case of "here's your work tonight, be done by morning"! I could've done that for the rest of my life.

Ok, the money could be a little better, but I've got complete freedom as to when I work (As long as I do my 39 hours) will earn around 8 grand in traveling expenses (When it will actually cost me 3 grand tops) and basically swan around telling people what to do, without having to actually do anything myself 8)

In my early 20's I worked for a Car Parts place serving on the countrer and what not,a lad I worked with would bring in bang loads of Pills and we would spend all day crushing and snorting them in the Paint room :D

I took 1/2 a trip at work with him once as well.I've no idea how we got away with it.

The one I'm doing now. Decided on my career choice on a school trip to Brunel University in Bristol aged 12, and worked towards it from then on. Currently Senior Art Editor of a big publishing company just outside London. Woot.

I love the job I do now. I work for TCG Acquisitions and we run over 150 pubs and nightclubs in the UK. I work in the banking department and am responsible for 60 pubs and clubs bankings.

The most popular pubs the comapny I work for owns are the Sailors and Red Lion in Newquay and the Glasshouse in Swindon among some of the more popular venues we own. Absolutely love my job and the people I work with. As noted in the press we are spending £20m this year to do up our pubs.

When I was at college I was 3 months from finishing (was around easter easter) my manager at Tesco put me on a fast track management course but she left to join a company called Regus.  She came to me and said dont work extra at easter come and do work experience at my new company.  I thought why not, after a week they offered us a job, regus did conferencinga nd offices etc and all sorts of business things.  My mind was blown away.  Went to speak to dad and explained teh options, tesco managerment or this office company that was like 5* and a great opportunity.  As my old man owns commercial offices he said go learn it all.  Within 3 years I was doing raher well, working in sales and marketing and still playing with IT (ha ha ha) and customer services.  Got to learn to talk to MDs of companies like 3G right down to tea boys.  I left to join a client who was a crook, when I found out it was too late as they had a mortgage in my name and guns in office - hence the move back to swindon to start own business.

I make money out of BT. It's boring as fuck and I hate it. But then again I've only ever had 3 jobs, and one of them was work experience.

Best job I had was my old job, apart from a few sexual harrassment episodes.  I used to get on really well with everyone, used to be able to get away with going on the forum all day long.  It wasn't really going to work it was like going to play school.  Now I have to work and I hate people I work with  :cry:

Best job ever was about 15 years ago when i was a sparky, we had a 6 month contract rewiring officers houses in a local army camp...i couldnt believe some of the offers that i had from the wives :shock:  mind you i didnt turn many down either :wink:

Seriously, my favourite job was trolley collecting at Sainsbury's. Fresh air, only 15 hours a week while i was at college... life was easy then!

My favourite job was also part-time at Sainsburys whilst I was at college, mainly for the pure abundance of 16/17 year old fitties that also worked there :P

Swindon Town programme editor. True, it involved taking abuse from Andy King and not getting paid on time, but it was awesome going to the training ground, getting to know some of the players and playing head tennis with them in the old gym underneath the north stand. Great days.

A number of reasons really. It was the most fun I've ever had at work. True, the pay wasn;t great and when busy the hours were very long, but to get the opportunity to chat to new players while dropping them off at the hotel, play head tennis with kingy and stuff, it was awesome at times. If you'd told me I'd be mates with some of the players (not current ones) when I was growing upo I would have laughed you out of town.

But...

Like everyone else, you have to look after no. 1, and the main reason was financial security. I had moved in to a house (that we couldn;t really afford anyway) with mates and couldn't afford not to get paid on time - even though it only happened once or twice, the continual uncertainty wasn't very nice. Then there was also no real room for moving up the ladder, I was prog editor and there was no ladder to climb, unless you become a mike sullivan, or chief exec (I'd love to be chief exec!), plus I knew I was never going to earn mega bucks there (not that I do now, but you know what I mean). Then there was being in league one - it was getting a tad repetitive writing about the likes of Tranmere and Rotherham every season. And the job I moved on to was man united  - interviewing Ruud van nistelrooy and co. appealed to me more than andy gurney- players who genuinely had a story to tell rather than players who thought they did.

Still, as I say, will remember it with fond memories.

But I much prefer going to games now without the involvement of working there - it can be hard being a fan and knowing what's going on behind the scenes. I'm glad to be out of that.

Working in the kitchens at the WI place in my home village. Sounds a bit shit, but i was working part time with a load of mates and it was always a laugh. The only time i've ever gotten on with a boss as well. I was gutted when i had to leave and get a proper job :(

i worked in a cafe in the states at an auction house for a month, thats was ace, just ate free pizza and picked up bargins along the way

It probably has to be one of my weekend jobs I had, working in a corner shop, it had it's up's and down's but I was often left in charge and it was always fun chatting up some of the more desirable young lady's that used to come in, it had it's down sides in that you had to keep and eye on certain theiving feckers or when the owner was bullied by one of the local junkies.

Or it could have been when I worked at a certain large mulit national computer chip manufacturer, always had the latest technology to work on and was always busy, and it was always a relaxed atmosphere to work in, and course the totty there was fantastic...and it's where I met the wife as well !

I dislike my job at the moment but contracts up this year, very much doubt I'll decide to stay on, see where next adventure takes me!

I love my job at the moment. I'm a civil servant so i get shit money but 6 weeks holiday plus bank holidays, close at christmas (another 2 weeks off!), Flexi time, brilliant pension, and because i'm actually rather good at fixing PC's, i'm also the mutts nut's in my office.

There could be a few more fitties though...

The money is poor compared to private industry, but as you say, there are some perks to be had, and a degree of job security too.

I've managed to spend three years of my civil service career working in the USA, rent, utilities paid for, cost of living allowance etc. Not many places offer that kind of opportunity. Job itself is utter gash (i.e. why I'm on here a lot), but hey ho.....
