Post by: tans on Tuesday, January 8, 2008, 10:33:55
Does anyone know which pub the away pub is and how far away from the train station it is?

just go in their supporters bar at the ground, hilarious accents, cheap beer and last time my mate turbo-vomited all over the toilets, great day

Last time we went to Walsall we went to that pub just up the road from the ground (opposite a supermarket).  Good beer in there from what I can remember all it could do with a bit of a refurb.

Cannot for the life of me remember what it was called though.

"The King George V in Wallowes Lane is okay, but as the nearest pub to the ground it gets (rather expectantly) rather busy which can make it a bit difficult to get served quickly. It is about a 15 minute walk away, opposite the Morrisons Supermarket. If you are walking from the stadium, go out of the official car parks and down towards McDonalds. Go past McDonalds on your right and take a left hand turn into Wallowes Lane. At the end of the lane turn left onto the main road and the pub is just setback on the left. Away fans though should avoid the Fulbrook pub near to the ground."

True its not your typical football pub but posh it aint.

I'm just lazy so couldnt be bothered to walk up the road to the pub you go past on the way from the motorway to the ground. Obviously this has the the secondary effect of increasing drinking time by 20 mins as well

I went in the fullbrook last year as a couple of my mates knew some walsall fans, it's not a total no go, but I can see the locals getting a little hot under the collar if a big group of away fans bowled up.

The good news is there hasn't been any more rain up here overnight, it looks cold but not wet - which after last night's monsoon bodes well.
