So have you got 2 cards in sli and 2 x WD 250gb or just one of each?

Title: Anyone Wanna Buy my PC
Post by: Lash_sumthin on Tuesday, January 8, 2008, 22:07:06
AMD athlon 2400+ 2.00GHz
512mb Ram
160gb HD (though i have a 250 external)
Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb

has actually served me fairly well over the years for what i initially paid. Has developed an issue with overheating though so requires a good bog out every month or two

PIII 550mhz
384mb ram
64mb Geforce 3.
over 500gb of various hard drive space.

Lasted me about 10 years, although really only in a triggers broom sort of way. There aren't any original parts left.

That reminds me Benjamin. I'll get that pc out the loft for you. You can then do some mods and combine the two.

No worries. Also, If they dont sell on ebay. I have a collection of about 40 win 98 games you can have as well, and a 15" monitor. Tempted to launch it out of a top floor window though...

I've already got a couple of spare monitors kicking about. I'd go for the top floor window.

Seriously?!!!
i don't think so personally.

i've seen them sell for over £400 on a more basic spec than mine.

considering the XPS700/710 are selling for over £500

Mobo and processor £80
Graphics £135
Memory £50
HD £45
Case and psu £30
DVD £20

That's brand new, obviously not built but you could probably hunt around and get it all even cheaper.

I have to agree with SiPie £300 and I would honestly snap their hand off, thats not being funny that is hand on heart as I can easily make up a faster spec PC for well under £400 brand new with almost double the spec of your, I am sorry to tell you.

I think Si's right. Priced it up to build from new now, using the same spec:

£40.00    Pentium D945 Dual 3.4ghz 4meg cache
£35.00    250gig WD Hard drive
£70.00    XFX GeForce 7900GT 256meg 256bit Graphics
£50.00    4gig PC5300 667mhz Ram
£100.00  For a decent Mobo
======
£295.00

And building your own you won't have shite Dell proprietary components rendering them virtually impossible to upgrade

Title: Anyone Wanna Buy my PC

it's just selling a system so cheap which has cost me quite a bit.

but i suppose as time has gone on with new technology etc prices tumble.

Technology has moved on indeed. Your motherboard is 3 chipsets old and your processor is very dated. A Core2Duo of similar price would blow it away.

If prices don't fall the technology you get for a similar price is incredible. I built my machine about 10 months ago and it was a quality spec nearly £1000. It's already lost £300 and would be more if I hadn't had got a good deal on things like the hard drives.

You can get a core2duo for £50 that is so much better...

I know you want to get as much as possible which is cool, but you'd be seriously mugging someone off at £450. If you can go ebay or local ad or something and do it then that's fine, but selling things through a forum I think it's only right a fair price is to be had by all.

I had an old Tosh laptop, probably about 15 years old. Had a P1 100mhz also, 64mb ram with the luxury of an internal floppy drive. Chucked it away last year when I moved house because the 500mb hard drive was fooked and you can't buy replacements for them now
