Title: You Should Never Meet Your Heroes Post by: Noel Gallagher on Tuesday, January 8, 2008, 10:13:13 Has anybody ever met someone they look up to just to have lost all respect for them after I ask because while walking through Putney Bridge Underground station yesterday afternoon I bumped into John Squire (ex Stone Roses) a man I have idolised as a kid and still do, anywya I approached him said hi John and asked if it would be possibel for a quick autograph just to be told 'You Can Fuck Right Off Mate' I was gutted at the time but now find it quite hilarious.
Title: You Should Never Meet Your Heroes Post by: BANGKOK RED on Tuesday, January 8, 2008, 10:22:10 To cut a long story short, I was invited to an after gig party at the De-Vere hotel with Buster Blood-Vessel and Pauline Black. I was made to feel very welcome and had a great night, without having to spend a penny.

Should have stuck your fingers up and told him everything he's done since the Roses has been shite I liked that song he released can't remember the band "now we know where we're going baby, we can lay back enjoy the ride.... love is the law??" Not sure if that's the words to be honest but it'll do. I saw Stone Roses at Reading in 97?!? they were awful, got the impression they really did not want to be there. i got ushered back stage after the gig to meet him and escort him down to the club (which was 400 yards away) . i was introduced said hello and said cant wait for the set, we have a great crowd. been really looking forward to it. ian brown response "actually i cant be bothered." "but its been advertised and everything we have a club full of people?" "cant be arsed mate. do you want a set list" "oooh can i have a fucking badge you cunt?" at which point i got forcibly removed by his bodyguards. the bloke was a grade A cunt. Title: You Should Never Meet Your Heroes Post by: mattboyslim on Tuesday, January 8, 2008, 20:29:55 When i flew to Bangkok a couple of years back I shared my flight with Oasis and Ian Brown, and despite the fact they they'd been cooped up on a plane for ten hours without being able to have a smoke, when they arrived in Bangkok they were very courteous and happy to pose for photos with all and sundry, I didn't fancy chatting to them in case they turned out to be dickheads, and that's not how I'd like to remember the guys who produced soem fo my all time favourite tunes. I was pleasantly surprised as I had visions of us getting grounded in Mongolia after they'd caused soem sort of ruck on the plane.

Don't mention that in front of Ian, he's gutted about it. Kept going on about how jealous he was of my photo compared to his!! Although he'll deny it now! Got that photo blown up, need to frame it, stick in the autographed Legends ticket and Bob's my uncle. |
