Title: Blackadder Post by: BANGKOK RED on Sunday, January 6, 2008, 17:23:20 What's your favourite series/episode?
I have the whole series on my PC and am as yet undecided but Blackadder goes forth is currently a front runner. Title: Blackadder Post by: axs on Sunday, January 6, 2008, 17:25:27 the last one, WW1. funny all the way through and then poignant at the end.

Ihave just been watching it and General Meltchards (Sp?) moustcache net is a classic. Title: Blackadder Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, January 6, 2008, 17:29:04 I never really liked Blackadder until I saw Blackadder Goes Fourth.
But my housemate had the boxset at uni and I think Blackadder II is also very good. "Beer" has to be one of the best episodes. Just finished watching that episode and I wonder how many others missed the irony of Baldricks last cunning plan (The ladder was broken). Title: Blackadder Post by: axs on Sunday, January 6, 2008, 17:42:12 i'm not sure anyone missed that did they? it was fairly obvious.

Edmund: Ah, Melchett -- late, I see, to avoid the early drinking. Oh, Melchy, you really are a beginner -- you're not even wearing a pair of comedy breasts! Melchett: [opens his coat to reveal gold false breasts] Au contraire, Blackadder... Title: Blackadder Post by: Batch on Sunday, January 6, 2008, 18:16:18 Blackadder II - Chains

Title: Blackadder Post by: janaage on Monday, January 7, 2008, 20:40:40 What's the one with the dictionary?? Blackadder III???
In any case the best Blackadder series without doubt is Goes Forth. On eof the greatest comedy series ever that was. The way the whole series builds up to going over the top and then, fade from scene with Blackadder and co running at the hun gun shots all around, to the silence of the poppy fields, sheer brilliance. I think I may have shed a tead the first time I saw that. Title: Blackadder Post by: Peter Venkman on Monday, January 7, 2008, 20:44:26 2, 3 and 4 are all great series but my fave is the Blackadder II - Beer.
See the little goblin, see his little feet And his little nosey-wosey, isn't the goblin sweet? But the very last episode of Blackadder goes forth was the only comedy program I actually cried at, the ending has to be the best and as you say most poignant ending ever. I totally agree, one minute you were laughing at the knitting needles up the nose bit and thinking he would actually get the all clear to leave the front, the next it was all over. Title: Blackadder Post by: mattboyslim on Monday, January 7, 2008, 20:51:22 We watched the whole series of goes Forth on a school trip to the Somme Battlefields, and whilst it was a bloody funy comedy that last episode kind of put things in context, and having visited the area, it added an extra poignance.
Title: Blackadder Post by: suttonred on Monday, January 7, 2008, 22:05:54 for those without, saw the boxset in sainsburys today for £21.99 Billy Bargain

Ink and Incapability Pt1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmQgWD4JHMo Pt2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQmqgmnn1aQ That episode is ace. I think all the series were great. Red Dwarf's another good one, although Blackadder is one of the best ever. My family are planning to go and see Ypres where my great uncle died in 1914 later this year but I dont think there is any way I could watch the last episode just before I went, I think that would be far too disturbing for me. Title: Blackadder Post by: SwindonTartanArmy on Tuesday, January 8, 2008, 12:09:52 Blackadder is Ace. Fact. And goes Forth is by far the best. Piss your pants funny all the way through up untill the last scene which still moistens the eyes despite having seen it so many times.
Baldrick? What are you doing? Im carving something on this bullet, sir!..... :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick: |
