Thats a great save by Brez....cant believe their goal though, after Mohamed fucks it up and then Paynter makes one of the best tackles of all time!

Saw it on Soccer Night (no Jed Pitman, yes!). People think the pen was soft, and it was as Cox was going nowhere. But the man took player not ball. If it had happened in the center circle it would have been blown for a foul (late challenge) and noone would have batted an eyelid).

In the end though, who cares!

With the risk of sounding thick here why can I only see a film clip as opposed to footy highlights?

have you got 'file' written anywhere? it should be next to 'edit' 'favourites' 'view' etc and then tools. it may be minimised by other toolbars in which case you will have two little '>>' s which will drop down the menu.

When I click on the >>'s it just drops down with messenger!  They may be disabled as its a works pc.

The highlights show that a Swansea player was about 3 yards inside the box when the penalty was taken... so even if Cox had missed it, the ref would have ordered it to be retaken.
Footballers really are very thick sometimes...

I don't know, after seeing the encroachment that no official spotted for Tottenhams penalty against Reading (where the eerily well-placed Jermaine Defore was on hand to head home from Hahneman's save), it makes me wonder just what you can rely on to be picked up. Stuff like encroachment and the keeper stepping off his line are easily identifiable (though the latter is rarely punished).

the timewasting before the penalty was absolutely criminal, their side ought to be charged with dissent by the FL - their entire team was trying it on, the keeper went off for a little ramble around the ground, etc etc. the ref did a decent job of keeping it under control in the end to be fair.

i didn't notice the encroachment but i recall a period a few seasons ago where refs went OTT about keepers moving too early and so on. it was daft.

I couldnt really see the incident at the time but after seeing it on Soccer night I thought it was a very soft penalty, but oh well, we have had stone wall penalties turned down in the past. Swings and Roundabouts. I went mental and loved every minute and it keeps the unbeaten run going.  :D
