Went to the Swansea game and thaught Comminges was superb,i wasnt a great fan of him early on but his display against Swansea was outstanding, his fitness is a credit.Agood battling display from Swindon, and i like the way we tried to keep the ball on the deck.

He has been the most consistant over the past few games and a player that seems to be able to switch from attack to defence quickly.

Unlucky for him not to score against Swansea, lovely pass from Teddy Bear, then Minge beat his man with a nice drop of the shoulder, one on one with the keeper and went purely for power. Very unlucky.

if you watch him during warm-ups when they do shooting practice, he's got one hell of a shot and he's pretty accurate as well.

i think he'll improve even more as we head towards the end of the season

(when it gets warmer).

Fair play to him. He's perfect as a wide man in a midfield 5. But he's a liability at the back as an old fashioned 4-4-2 full back.

Got to be one of the sucess stories of this season. Started pretty well on the left wing early doors, then when dropped back to fight full back to cover J Smith looked really poor for a while. The improvement over the last couple of months has been immense, put a decent winger in front of him and not the truley poor McGovern and I think our right side would be awsome.

I think he's a good attacking full back but he still gets caught out of position far too often. Mind you it doesn't help that JPM doesn't know right midfield from centre midfield.

and JP was shocking didnt make runs wanted the ball to his feet if not he didint bother.

I've said it before but what exactly does McGovern actually do?

Somewhere in the region of fuck all as far as I can see.
Occasional good run/cross but not enough to warrent a starting place.

I'd agree actually, since Mcgovern has been here I reckon he has had 1 good game, for all the hype about how he was such a good crosser and an out and out winger, he has certainly not shown it so far, been very inconsistent.

Exactly Mex these people been drinking he puts in the best crosses in our team there is no one that even gets close to the delivery he puts in from wide.  The assist record says it all, take 12 goals away from us and we would be in a far worse scenario.

I'll say it again.

JP is a good player but needs to get the ball out wide first. He doesnt get enough service.....he needs more service to be more effective.....and finally someone who can take a corner without hitting the first fucking man.

Some of you should try watching the game sometime  :D

I thought that to start with, but JPM has played centre midfield before and was more likely to stay central than Zaaboub.

Zaaboub would have kept going out wide and stretching our midfield across the pitch when we needed to stay narrow as a 3.

Well, I think like everyone I was expecting Byrne to stick with the personel and go 4-4-1 leaving it as it was.

When I saw Paynter getting ready to come on I was a bit confused and thought he'd take JPM off because Zaaboub was playing well.

After about 5 minutes it clear why he took Zaaboub off, he was obviously going to 4-3-2 keeping the midfield narrow and Zaaboub probably wouldnt have done that, certainly not as effectivly as JPM

Personally, i think that the decesion to sub zaaboub was a brave one by Byrne & Williams.

If it had gone wrong they would have been murdered by fans and press alike, and with the new owners watching it could have gone horribly wrong for them.

Maybe just maybe they have bought themselves some time in the job and given AF some food for thought.

I would like to see JPM in centre mid for a game, doesn't get around on the wing really, but likes a tackle.

The whole Zaaboub subbing incident was a very brave call by Byrne, put I think certainly paid dividends.

We needed to keep the midfield tight and go more on the defensive, which Zaaboub isn't so inclined to do.

About 30 seconds after the substituation was made, JPM pops up in the left-back position to make a last ditch tackle and deny Swansea a shot on goal - Zaaboub would never have done that.

moments before corr got sent off, zaaboub made an awesome tackle when vincent got caught out of position (shock horror)

anyway, where's this stat about JP's assists come from?

id agree with that, williams pissed up at 2am on new years day confirmed it for me. fair play, he's spent his last 15-20 years off the source on new years eve- but it suggests he's nothing but a token figure at the mo.
