Thats a great chord, especially when played open (not barred). if you can play an E and an F# then you will be able to play 'shakermaker' by Oasis

An A is also needed. Be aware.

F# looks tricky....

Oh well. Practice make something or other. Not progressed to barred yet!

Try it with just the first 4 strings Batch - barreing both the top strings with your index finger.

Ignore E and A strings.

You'll find even pressing 2 strings with one finger difficult at first, but as with anythin it's all about practice. Except in my case. I'm still shit.

B7 is the daddy I must say. Goes nicely with either Em or, as mantioned, F#..due to reasons only those of us with musical theory qualifications (and anybody else who might happen to care) know  :mrgreen:

play the b7 with the 3 fingers that aren't your index finger, then slide up 2 frets and put your index finger on the b string second fret. Thats a piss easy way of playing the F# with a barre.

If you're feeling fruity at this point then note it is possible to put your thumb over the bottom E string to cover the 2nd fret to give you the F# bass note.

IIRC that was the technique first employed by Eddie Cochran [sp] back in the sixties to give the driving altenating bass line to his guitar riffs.
I tried it once and nearly broke my wrist trying to get my hand round the neck, never tried again since  :shock:

Oh and for the record my fav chord has to be Gm paired fantasticly with a C.

Shame I can't play anything of note at all and I've only had my guitar for about 4 years.

I can't do the thumb over thing either. Kills my hands, although barre chords in general used to as well. It's just practice.
