He was the one who made all of this personal, trying to divide the fans, publically slating and taking the piss out of Paul D and co, at times. There was no need for that, perhaps it is that he knows the walls are closing in on him, and like a fairly high ranking officier in the SS circa 1945, he's started with this Mr Nice Guy act.
