ANDREW Fitton's Town takeover bid is on the brink of collapse, the Swindon Advertiser understands.

A statement is due to be released later today confirming that Fitton's protracted attempt to purchase the County Ground outfit is doomed to failure.

The news will throw fresh question marks over Town's immediate future with mountains of unpaid debts threatening to send the club out of business.

I wouldn't be surprised if Cliff the magic Dragon makes an appearance in the next few weeks.  As nice a bloke as he is he’s done the ‘fronting’ for Mike before and has been brought in as a ‘neutral’ to try and calm things down when they get a bit handy.

On to plan B then, which I think will see us pay off some of the debt renegotiate the remaining amount of the CVA with creditors, take a 15 point hit, string the charade on for another 18 months, take out any revenue as ‘admin expenses’ all until the next unsuspecting investor comes long.

Power is a handy scapegoat for all this i see...

Exactly we have never been so close to the brink, the CVA must be paid just to lift the transfer embargo and I just cant see these clowns paying it now.  We are in deep trouble, surely Brighton at home every Swindon fan will be protesting, for those that just want to support there fucking team newsflash we are on the edge of a cliff about to go over.

if things do all go tits up and the club is wound up etc, the CVA fails and the full amount is owned - is it the directors of the club that are responsible for the debt ?  If I was a creditor I'd have the bailiffs round their houses already.

unfortunately, we can't go on indefinitely - we'll hit a wall eventually and that'll be it.

we do seem to have a history of escaping from the death throes but fitton's put no money in, we can't sell anyone right now and SSW has no property left to mortgage...
