I missed the funeral  :x  so cant comment. But if im honest, i was abit dissapointed with the aftermatch protest. Numbers were dissapointing, and why did everyone bugger off after half an hour? We wanted to make a stand, and leaving after half hour is giving up easily.

I said earlier in the other thread that having 100 people or less, i heard it's actually more like 50 is pathetic and also not many behind the arkells after the game, you wouldn't think we were on the verge of going bust, it seems most fans just don't give a toss, it's harsh but it's the fucking truth.

I'm just saying what a lot of people are thinking Jan. Apathy, coupled with excuses to not protest will always prevail. The tide seemed to be turning at the open meeting in the GW Bar, I saw a few people who had belittled the Trust and protests turn out to that. They were genuinely going to get involved.

It's all in the peoples with/without the money hands.

I expected alot better and really thought this would be the best protest yet and that it would make the board stand up and take notice, however they are probably wetting themselves laughing thinking what a fucking joke.

I agree that when sturrock said not to protest and the trust backed down that ruined everything, i have since gone off the trust a little as i feel they let everyone down by abandoning the protests and it has cost us, they should have carried on regardless and no matter what sturrock said.

I would have been there but i live about 6 hours away from swindon and couldn't make it.

i'd say there was 150-200 max. There weren't as many as after the cheltenham game put it that way.

I'm sorry but that's complete crap. There was a good 4-500 to start off with, numbers started to dissipate once the away coaches went through, I suspect partly because some people were concerned that might be a flashpoint as the stewards were getting a bit hufty, but mainly because it was bloody freezing.

Difficult to estimate exact numbers with people so far back from the club entrance, but I'd say there were at least a few hundred to begin with. There was a lot of traffic coming the other way (fans & coaches) so it was difficult to push up. All in all I thought it was a reasonable effort, miserable fuckin weather, but would've liked to have seen some more angry men up front, rather than a bunch of kids. Couldn't have looked all that threatening from the boardroom. Still, well done to those who did bother, we were vocal enough to let them know we're not going to go down without a fight. The 'funny' money was quality also, fair play to whoever organised that.

Another thing, why did 20-odd blokes gather down the front of the arkells with about  minutes to go in the first half??

turn out was similar to cheltenham i'd say. people didn't hang around quite so long though, frankly i can't blame them cos i'm still absolutely frozen.

a bit disappointing but the fact is that there are a lot of town fans who won't get involved with protesting or confrontational stuff despite their concerns, not sure how you begin to address that problem. there doesn't seem to be that negativity towards protests that there was in the past, except for one bloke who thought we were killing the club or something.

we've got a fnortnight before our next scheduled home match...this evening's revelations would suggest the takeover could rumble on for longer which buys us a bit of a time perhaps, so we need to keep up the pressure in the meantime.

I agree with Paul's estimates. There were a lot of people to start with. The stewards were morons when trying to make way for the coaches. They were pushing people into other stewards who were then pushing them back. I decided to comply with what they said in the slowest possible manner and being a fat git I can be very, very slow so ended up with a coach up my jacksy for a minute or two while a 10st woman tried to shove me out of the way  -extremely optimistic.
One thing I did notice is the majority of stewards were scared. Next time try making eye contact with one of them and keep eye contact going. They will look away first. Even then keep eye contact with them - they will move. It worked quite well with the moron who shoved my 12 year old daughter.  
Overall, well done to everyone today. Some people say it was pathetic but what is patheetic is doing nothing. What is even more pathetic is bitching about it.

I agree, surely we will not get anymore time hmrc will not budge, that may well have been our last chance to protest, if this legal issue is going to drag on for weeks/months it will be way too late.

I was there for Funeral and post match. It was poor on the turnout front, but those who were there did their best.

The other 5000 let us down, as they always have.

Not sure what match some people went to today :?  I thought the coffin routine was fucking ace before the match. far better supported than I thought it would be. I expected a fucking embarrassing procession with a few scroat fans looking like wankers. The opposite was in evidence though. The coffin draped with the red and white flag looked so fucking good and the cunt with the scary mask with blood pissing everywhere and the grim reaper cozzy completed  the visual for the snappers that were there. The Diamandis notes were ace too. Bet the cleaners will fucking love the fans for showering them everywhere in and out of the stadium :soapy tit wank:

The protest looked about 3-400 minimum outside the Arkells after and they were fucking noisy. The cunts in the lounge upstairs might pull the fucking curtains accross but I bet it's fucking difficult holding a converstaion over a post-match prawn sandwich with all that noise going on outside.

i think the funeral procession will get decent coverage nationally. it's definitely something SSN would run with as it's quirky and involves the fans  but also highlights our situation.

So what media coverage did we end up getting in the end then? what papers will it be in etc?

My hands have just about warmed up now and I thought it went OK really the funeral march was a success but as I was a pall barer on the coffin I couldn't really see how many followed but certainly seemed a fair few.....

After the match the protest got our point accross which is all we can do really. Rent a mob security showed their true colours however and seemed to want to try and cause a riot. I think one started on Andy Tuck and then being the cowards that they are swapped vests with another mob member to try and avoid being identified.

well i know the times and the telegraph were there. there was a photographer there for the nationals and he will pool his photos for them all. its now in the lap of the gods wether the editors go with it.

there was a mention in the daily mirror today so that may well bode well.

however dont get your hopes up to high as you can never gurantee coverage.

for what its worth i thought the funeral looked ace. well done to all concerned. visually it will look great for the papers.

Didn't do the funeral procession (Didn't want to get my hair wet) but did go behind the Arkells after the game.

We're never going to get massive numbers protesting but fair play to the ones that do.

The Diamond Mike funny money went down a treat.

ITV cameras werent allowed in till 4.30pm cause of BBC having the rights to the FA cup - Then Mr Byrne took about an hour to come out and do the post match stuff meaning when we went out to try and get some protest stuff everyone had gone.  :(  sorry
