Title: London Parking Post by: Power to people on Thursday, November 29, 2007, 15:23:29 Travelling up to London for the theatre with the Mrs going shopping in the day timein a few weeks time (leaving credit card at home though :soapy tit wank: )
I want to drive up by car as it is easier, does anyone know any cheapish and decent car parks to park up in for the day until late evening outside of the city so I can then just jump on a tube and go where we like. We usually travel up and park at heathrow but that is awkward and a bit of a trek on the tube, although it only costs something like £9 for a day. Any recomendations ? Title: London Parking Post by: Sippo on Thursday, November 29, 2007, 15:25:16 Uxbridge mate.
Title: London Parking Post by: STFC_Chris on Thursday, November 29, 2007, 15:25:16 Isn't there a big car park under Hyde Park? I think that's outside of the congestion charging area as well.
Edit: Actually, that's slap bang in the middle. I really ought to read things more carefully. Title: London Parking Post by: sonic youth on Thursday, November 29, 2007, 15:30:10 would it not work out cheaper to train it?
there's always the oxford tube, dirt cheap and you can ditch your car in awwwxfawwd town Title: London Parking Post by: sonic youth on Thursday, November 29, 2007, 15:31:42 oh i didn't read it properly, thought you were going drive round laaahndan :D
Title: London Parking Post by: fatbury on Thursday, November 29, 2007, 15:32:08 Osterley tube station - off M4 .. Junction 3 or 2 .. cant remember which
Giant car park - about £3 all day Title: London Parking Post by: Sippo on Thursday, November 29, 2007, 15:34:56 Or even staines. Not underground, but only £6 on the train to victoria iirc. And think you can get away with free parking on the streets nearby.
Title: London Parking Post by: jayohaitchenn on Thursday, November 29, 2007, 15:39:32 Drive right into Hammersmith and park in the car park there. It's about £5 for all evening and less than 5 mins walk from Hammersmith tube station. Be about another £5 on the tube to go anywhere in central London.
Title: London Parking Post by: Bushey Boy on Thursday, November 29, 2007, 15:40:07 Watfords an hour and a quater, the parking is £6 and return to london with built in underground is about 15 each
Title: London Parking Post by: McLovin on Thursday, November 29, 2007, 15:44:07 Park in Ealing on the street... Ealing Broadway being the nearest tube, and about 5 mins from where you'll leave your car.
Title: London Parking Post by: Luci on Thursday, November 29, 2007, 15:52:04 Whoooooooooooah be careful with Ealing. Only 1 or 2 streets are not zoned and free.
Western gardens is free, near Gunnersbury Avenue near Ealing Common Station. Title: London Parking Post by: McLovin on Thursday, November 29, 2007, 15:53:24 Thats the bunny... Sexual Ealing...
Title: London Parking Post by: Hexagon on Thursday, November 29, 2007, 15:55:10 Yeah Sod Ealing.
Park along the streets near Boston Manor station on Boston Manor Road in Brentford. Title: London Parking Post by: Samdy Gray on Thursday, November 29, 2007, 16:04:49 Fuck it... just stay at home. It'll be a lot less confusing!
Title: London Parking Post by: Lumps on Thursday, November 29, 2007, 16:32:01 Harrow would be a good bet. Rayners Lane's got a decent size car park 200 odd spaces as has South Harrow. I don't think it'll be more than £3 during the week and less than that at the weekend.
Off the M4 at Junction 3, straight up the Parkway (A312) to the Target roundabout, (or you can get there straight up the A40 if your one of our unfortunate Oxfordshire dwelling friends), across that into Northolt, left at the roundabout onto Alexandra Ave (A409something) keep going 'til you see the Rayners Lane Tube sign and the car park sign on the left. Get's you on the Metopolitan Line :D Title: London Parking Post by: SwindonTartanArmy on Thursday, November 29, 2007, 17:19:50 What day you going? If its a weekend then there is an area just off of junction 2 that is free. And near Acton Town tube.
Title: London Parking Post by: Barry Scott on Thursday, November 29, 2007, 17:22:39 Plumbstead has loads of good parking, you can tube it in, only takes about 2 hours, or ride a bike (put one in your boot), takes about 30 minutes if you motor it.
Don't thank me for my help, i'm just happy to be here. Title: London Parking Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Thursday, November 29, 2007, 17:53:10 anywhere in camden after 6.30 is free. ive parked by the roundhouse and russel square for the last 2 fridays for free

He'd be quicker fucking walking! Title: London Parking Post by: Barry Scott on Thursday, November 29, 2007, 18:55:49 Surely you can see that Plumstead makes far more sense in the long term though?

It's a Friday we're going - bear in mind the Mrs wants to go shopping so probably be looking to hit Laaanndooon about 2-3pm -after she's spent about £80 in the hairdressers in the morning (Why do they have to do that ?) Thanks for the advice though much appreciated - the areas easily accesible off the M4 sound easier as I don't know London to drive round and whoever suggested parking in Pox land...fucking hell I couldn't enter that area - I do have some self respect :soapy tit wank: Title: London Parking Post by: sonic youth on Thursday, November 29, 2007, 19:04:50 some of us have to live here mate!

Park up there - then get the train down. London parking is a nightmare, Traffic Jams - will make pull out your hair. London parking, now don't look at me, I haven't been to London, since 2003. London parking, will make your feet hurt, walking about, busy tubes are a cert'.
