But seriously, until UEFA/FIFA get their act together and organise a proper qualifying tournament, this will continue to happen. Get rid of friendlies, get rid of San Marino/Andorra/Lichtenstein and lets play 12 good teams home and away in a qualifying group. To be fair to McLeish, Scotland havnt got a competitive game for around a year now. I think he quite conceivably could have been sacked by Birmingham by then. But then they will have to know the scottish game extremely well, as well as the phsyche.
