Title: FFS - Somebody kill me please
Post by: janaage on Tuesday, November 27, 2007, 15:57:53
Oh deja vu alert.

Can someone tell me the date, is it 2006 all over again?

McLeish resigns

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/7114028.stm

That means for the second time in just over a year it's not a good time to be a Scottish Swindon fan.  Many thanks Walter Smith, Dennis Wise, Paul Sturrock and Big Eck.

I hope you all get the sack in the near future.

To be honest Big Eck made a few mistakes as Scotland boss, if there was a decent candidate waitin gto take over I wouldn't be bothered, but when you see Billy Davies is being lined up, it makes you wonder.

Cheers for your kind words of support gentlemen.

All I need now is for Fitton to takeover Oxford and my week will be complete!

I was going to be all insincere and commiserate with you Jan, but that would be wrong.

Instead I'll chuckle that your misfortune is twice as bad as mine.

Hope that's ok :D

Just shows - ALL JOCKS will jump ship for the colour of money.
Can there be a better job than representing your country?

Does this mean Birmingham City are bigger than Scotland?

or just that they have doubled his salary.....

who do you reckon will be the next scotland manager? strachan maybe. Theirs not really any other scottish managers doing that well really, except maybe collins at hibs. Any chance you might tempt fergie away from manu ?

Apparently a Mr S McClaren is interested in the job....

I don't want Davies, don't want Strachan (not that he'd leave Celtic), and a big no-no to Souness.

Although it'd leave Hibs in the lurch I'd be tempted to give Collins a go.

Problem is the SFA don't have the money to offer any big names the job.

Just goes to show that Birmingham City are bigger than Scotland.

But seriously, until UEFA/FIFA get their act together and organise a proper qualifying tournament, this will continue to happen. Get rid of friendlies, get rid of San Marino/Andorra/Lichtenstein and lets play 12 good teams home and away in a qualifying group.

To be fair to McLeish, Scotland havnt got a competitive game for around a year now. I think he quite conceivably could have been sacked by Birmingham by then.

some very poor names been linked with the post. Dont think Levein or Collins have enough experience yet, plus think they are too young. Personally think national managers positions suit the older coach as they are less likely to jump ship to "get back to working day to day with players". Ideal candidate would be Ferguson, but he isnt going anywhere, which leaves you with Jim fucking Jeffries :-))(
Billy Davies, No
Souness, fuck no
George Graham, I thought he was dead!
George Burley? maybe, but likely to jump ship for a well paying club job (and an alky (spelling) alledgedly
McLaren? well he can start using his scottish accent again after succesfully completing "Operation fuck up englands chances"

Looks like we will ahve to wait and see if our stock has risen enough for a decent foreign manager to apply. But then they will have to know the scottish game extremely well, as well as the phsyche. Unlike Mr V*gts
