With the news of Luggy's imminent departure I guess that the only two happy Swindon Town "fans" today will be Toni and Mike Diamandis.  One in the eye for the supporters.

Now all he has to do is sabotage the takeover and I'd say that's game set and match to MD.

That post wasn't intended to be a self indulgent "oh look at me" comment.

It just sums up the way I feel about STFC at this precise moment in time.

This club specialises in kicking you in the nuts everytime the future starts to look rosey.

We're 3 points off a play off place, with a game in hand FFS.  And this has to happen.

If Fitton takes over I hope to hell he knows it's gonna be a struggle to win the "hearts and minds" of the average fan.  We've put up with some much crap over the last few years.

I'm not sure what they could do, if the manager wants out he gets it. If he doesn't get it, he resigns anyway. Any resisting would have been futile.

I would like to hope Fitton and the current board did all they could to stop it, but the latter have such a weakened financial position I doubt they were in a position to.

yes, but this is the way that a club runs, we get a decent manager somebody makes an offer, he goes. We need a managerial turnaround like this to aid the finances.

I have had enough of this club as well, it makes me feel like not bothering with STFC ever again and i probably won't unless Fitton takes over, if it doesn't STFC is finished anyway so it won't matter.

I feel ashamed to be part of STFC right now, that might sound controversial and harsh but like a lot of us i am sick to death of all the shit and the wankers on the board, we must be the biggest laughing stock in english football, i don't feel like going to games or being part of any of it not until things change dramatically.

Until the club is dead and buried I'll be going. Tbh, I can't really understand people not going who profess to support the club. Not looking for an argument, just my personal view.

The board are shit, but then they've always been shit.

In all seriousness, I'll never stop watching the team because the 2 are mutually exclusive. It's inevitable that some of money will wind up in the boards hands - but I don't think of it like that.

I'm not having a dig or owt, fair play for taking a stand, but the worst thing that could happen now is the playing side of things falls to pieces. Footy's a day out and a laugh for me at the end of the day and I'll keep going to the bitter end.

The thing is, Fitton seemed to use this date as a final day, or an important day where it would be a lot clearer as to whether there would be a takeover or not. It is gone 5 and we've heard nothing, and to me that is extremely concerning and I think we all deserve some clarity - Hopefully from Fitton himself rather than Bob "We will not welcome an approach for Sturrock" Holt.

Anything would be welcome. I hate the silence. Even if it's just "announcement tomorrow" or at least an update on the Sturrock situation.

I think we wont hear anything official today about the takeover or Luggy leaving.

The problem I have Dave and Barry is that football's neither a "day out" or a "laugh" anymore.  The fun's evaporated, and I don't really see spending a few hours around the ground a day out.

I wouldn't stop going either, I just love it. I might not go for a few games when the money's tight or I'm working or something and if it wasn't for the fact that we're on the lash next week I'd be there.

money is the main reason why i'm not going at the minute, but to be honest then fun has been drained out of it the last few times i've gone. i've left the ground feeling empty, its pretty much all down to the off-field bollocks.  :(

Don't get me wrong, i know what you mean, in a sense, but for me that's like feeling sorry for yourself or cutting off your nose to spite your face.

I love my club and i will watch the club and accept the ups and downs on the chin. The emotional shit that we get thrown at us is just part and parcel of being a supporter and quitting is not in my make up.

As a great man once said "It takes a strong fish to swim against the current, even a dead fish can float along with it". Jumping ship, when the going gets tough, is the easy option.

Plus, everything is what you choose to make of it, regardless of how someone puts it, everything you think and feel is of your own doing. Why let something that someone else has done bring you down?

You not going is your choice, and i understand why. What i say above is not a dig, it's just pointing out my own personal stand point, without (hopefully), coming across as condescending or self-righteous. Doh... :D
