Title: Plymouth Statement Post by: STFC_Gazzza on Saturday, November 24, 2007, 18:46:30 This would tie in with Sturrock leaving Monday...
GYLE's serach for a new manager is progessing smoothly. The board of directors held a meeting in Sheffield on Saturday morning to discuss a replacement for Ian Holloway, who resigned last week. Chairman Paul Stapleton reported that those talks had been highly constructive. He said: "We had a productive meeting this morning and are making good progress. "As things stand, we are confident we will be able to swiftly bring the search for our next manager to a conclusion." http://www.pafc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10364~1175057,00.html Title: Plymouth Statement Post by: Spud on Saturday, November 24, 2007, 18:48:08 Paul Stapleton and Sturrock are very chummy, he'll be gone on Monday without a doubt.
Title: Plymouth Statement Post by: Barry Scott on Saturday, November 24, 2007, 19:37:37 I'm not sure i'm massively bothered anymore.
The fact we have his Son on a 2 year deal made me start to question his judgement, this coupled with playing Peacock on the left wing when we have Roberts doesn't make me admire the rude sweaty. Title: Plymouth Statement Post by: Peter Venkman on Sunday, November 25, 2007, 11:37:38 Slade is a very good manager and all his players love to play for him, they could do a lot worse, good record up at Grimsby and not too bad so far down at Yorvile.
I have heard the muff board are more than a little keen on Fartin Allen. Title: Plymouth Statement Post by: Peter Venkman on Sunday, November 25, 2007, 11:52:14 http://www.people.co.uk/sport/football/tm_headline=hotline-sturr-it-up-paul&method=full&objectid=20158532&siteid=93463-name_page.html

Half our squad is carrying injuries. I think we will be right in the shit if he leaves. Id like to see us with Adi Williams for a month, just so the players fuck it up and dont get all cocky, then have Cotterill come in. Title: Plymouth Statement Post by: newmarket red on Sunday, November 25, 2007, 13:56:18 Well if sturrock goes i hope they dont just put anyone in charge for an amount of games like they have done in the past and the person chosen to replace sturrock is the one we all want so theres no devide between the fans. paul jewel or hoddle for me.

Even if Fitton takes over tomorrow our wage structure is unlikely to appeal to any manager of that stature, Both must be on £15-20k a week+. And why would Jewell come to us when he has recently turned down Bolton and Wigan both of which are higher league, bigger wage bills and better prospects. The best we could hope for is Cotterill who is a good manager at this level but fell out with the Burnley fans for his utterly boring defensive football he got them playing. Title: Plymouth Statement Post by: tans on Sunday, November 25, 2007, 14:08:21 Jimmy Quinn could do a job i think  :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick:

Quinn is a good non-league boss; he's turned Cambridge Round and he got Shrewsbury promoted out of the conference a couple of years ago. Maybe that's where his level is but he does well there. I think he said along the lines of being run as a business like no other club has been before. I assumed that meant a strict budget, we'll see.
