Cant believe fans are deserting their local match day pub because Rovers are in town. Dont think they will start trouble in a pub before the kick off to be honest.

But if the Merlin is designated Rovers only then we don't have much of a choice!

And it's not as if going to the merlin is some sort of unbreakable tradition like Easter Eggs or drinking 3 bottles of red wine before lunch at Christmas.

If people want to chip up Old Town then I don't really care where. As long as it's not Longs or Mackenzies or The Spot. Well I'll concede the Spot at a push, but not the other two.

That is only speculation because they went to the Merlin last year. As said before on here, get to the pub early and the police will move Rovers on to another pub. The Merlin is a Swindon haunt and it should be filled with Swindon fans on a match day not Gas.

I'd prefer it if Rovers has there own pub and The Merlins probably the best option. We all know it can be a bit of mission getting a pub on away days so we might as well play nice. It's not that hard to go elsewhere.

"It is a big game, a six-pointer if you like, and we want all the fans to enjoy the game and act responsibly.

"We have been co-operating with the police to isolate trouble makers and there will be an increased police presence on the day.

"The club does not tolerate violence in football of any kind.

"We desperately want the match to pass without any such incident and for it to be an enjoyable day for all supporters."

The game kicks off at the Country Ground at 3pm.
