Post by: OneAndrewFitton on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, 15:16:08
Seems from what i've been reading on teamtalk that he could well be going to leicester, check this out: http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,16368,2483_2892891,00.html

Let's just hope Sturrock doesn't go back to Plymouth, after all he did say that he wanted to go back to Plymouth to retire.

I heard this on the radio last night and thought someone would have posted it already but Plymouth could well prove tempting for him.

Sturrock wouldn't leave. He would have done already I think, He could have left when BEST were here and were fucking him about, if he stayed through that he will stay with Fitton who calls him a "diamond"

Well i have to agree with Gazz here. Also there is no mention of Sturrock going back by Plymouth fans on another forum at all. In fact most of them reckon Holloway won't even go to Leicester and that it's all bollocks.

he's got that clause in his contract about "one particular club" whereby he's allowed to talk to them and join them for nothing.

it's got to be plymouth.

Be interested to see where you saw this 'fact'.

From what I recall, it was a rumour concerning Wednesday when he first arrived here, which was subsequently rubbished as complete and utter bollocks by all concerned.

Everytime a club in the Championship needs a manager we're gonna get the job linked to Luggy.

Putting my thinking cap on for a minute - I think Strood may have been taking the piss. Actually I don't own a thinking cap.

If Sturrock does have a get out clause in every contract he has to sign for a no compensation to one particular club.

It doesnt take a brain surgeon to see that it wont be Plymuff, it will obviously be Dundee United.

But on the other hand if Plymuff did come in for him I have no doubts that with what has been going on that he WOULD GO.

Rumours again in several tabloid newspapers today about Luggy going back to the muff.

I think its lazy journalism myself but found an interesting fans forum where they ask the question...would you have him back? most fans are 50-50 on this half say yes half say no way.

The same stuff keeps coming up about him playing the long ball war of attricion football, one twat says that they played theball in triangles on the ground...which was shouted down a bit....obviously!

One other wierd post on page 2.....quote...

"why would sturrock leave swindon for argyle.they are probably a 'bigger' club than argyle.been in the prem, mega rich chairman, wealthy area etc etc."

Mega rich chairman? who knows....wealthy are?...very.....bigger club...not sure!

heres the post from the forum...

I think he'll leave Plymouth, as he has a column on BBC site, I would doubt they would just report he was interested in taking over at Leicester without some substance behind the rumours.

If Sturrock does go then the board only have themselves to blame.

Surely, surely Luggy has unfinished business here.

If the takeover gets sorted in the next 48 hours then we can all work together to get this club going places.

There is no guarantee going back to Plymouth would work a second time either. So don't do it Luggy!

To be honest if Sturrock was offered the Plymouth job, I'd take it if I were him. No mucking around by the board - a decent squad of players who could make the play offs, getting paid on time etc.
Then bring in Ling and we can see some quality football each week.

I don't think PS will go back to Plymouth, too soon to go back, maybe in 5 10 years, but not now.

Post by: Frigby Daser on Wednesday, November 21, 2007, 14:04:18
Hopefully Fitton's been on the phone already to say that if the deal goes through, he'll offer PS a new deal - he deserves it. If we didn't have a strong manager in place over the last year, God knows where we'd be. Imagine if Adi Williams had the job permanantly afetr Wise left.

Apparently Sturrock made breakfast for Fitton a few weeks back so they must get on I would have thought, and Fitton has stated Sturrock is in his opinion the best manager outside the Premiership.

But on the other hand the fact that muff are a league higher, he knows the area, still has property in the area, the fans treat him as a legend and would be given money to build the squad up.

Bugger me...I would go in his situation but I would love to think that he will be staying, I certainly hope he is anyway.

I read somewhere he would only leave for sheffield wednesday, as he has unfinished business their. He's done all he can do at plymouth, so i doubt he'd go back their.

On a side-note, i'd lose some respect for holloway if he went to leicester. Step-down for him

Sturrock os a man of principles, he won't walk out on us, unless the takeover collapses and the board "ask" him to leave as the  club could do with the compensation to pay half a bill (not power).

Hasn't he literally (in the last few weeks) just bought a house down there? I remember him saying how happy he was to be settled. Wonder how long he'll last at Leicester.
