Title: Aljofree Post by: glos_robin on Monday, November 19, 2007, 21:46:08 This is probably going to be as Controversial as my comment about Wise but after the rave reviews people give him Aljofree just doesn't do it for me. At times I actually think Ifil is carrying him as without his pace I really do think he would have been shown up on a number of occasions. He's not a commanding central defender and doesn't talk as much as I would like a captain to do. I never thought I'd say this but I actually think we miss Vincent's communication.
Title: Aljofree Post by: Batch on Monday, November 19, 2007, 21:50:26 He struggled a bit for me on Saturday. Overall though he seems sound enough to me.
Title: Aljofree Post by: Amir on Monday, November 19, 2007, 21:50:31 If he was a couple of inches taller, he'd be a great centre back. He also wouldn't be playing for us. Might not be a shouter but I think he's organised the back line for us pretty well in the games I've seen.
Title: Aljofree Post by: Colin Todd on Monday, November 19, 2007, 21:51:41 I rate him highly.
Not been at his best since coming back from injury though, I think he was rushed back and still dosnt look 100% to me Title: Aljofree Post by: glos_robin on Monday, November 19, 2007, 21:57:53 Quote from: "Colin Todd" I rate him highly. Not been at his best since coming back from injury though, I think he was rushed back and still dosnt look 100% to me To an extent thats my thinking, I don't think he is anywhere near being fit and is showing it abit and I feel it is putting Ifil under a little bit of pressure as he knows Aljofree is not fit and it is harming Ifil's game who I honestly believe is the key player at STFC. For me Ifil is the first name on the team sheet now.... Title: Aljofree Post by: sonic youth on Monday, November 19, 2007, 21:59:19 i think he's quality and is probably playing a level below where he ought to be.
don't know about communication, wherever i sit i never hear any of our players. i think some of you must sit there with ear trumpets or something Title: Aljofree Post by: Fred Elliot on Monday, November 19, 2007, 22:21:17 I would

Title: Aljofree Post by: wokinghamred on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, 00:01:21 Yeah, I thought he was rubbish on Saturday.
Might have been something to do with the fact that he could hardly run for most of the second half. For Christ sake, give him a break. Title: Aljofree Post by: DMR on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, 09:59:59 I've been saying for ages that we need Williams back alongside Ifil- Aljofree makes so many mistakes.
Title: Aljofree Post by: Kinky Tom on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, 10:55:45 I like Hasney, think he should stop looking for that diagonal ball all the time but he's a good defender, that said if we got Collins back I'd just about rather he played alongside Ifil, I was mighty impressed with him, despite his darts player looks.
Title: Aljofree Post by: McLovin on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, 11:37:22 I've had this view all season. I struggle to see the fascination
Title: Aljofree Post by: Bogus Dave on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, 13:56:39 He hasn't really impressed me too much recently. NOt awful by any means, but not brilliant
Title: Aljofree Post by: Tails on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, 14:15:26 I think he did alright considered he was playing on with an injury on Saturday.
Title: Aljofree Post by: Power to people on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, 14:51:56 I think he has been ok, not fantastic but not poor either, more of a steady eddy type player and him and Ifil seem to have got a good understanding going.
Title: Aljofree Post by: sonic youth on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, 14:57:33 i think he's fucking quality.

Title: Aljofree Post by: Arriba on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, 16:53:02 i cannot belive the negativity about him.he is very vocal and can pass the ball better than ifil, vincent and williams put together.he's injured now but had started the season superbly.
Title: Aljofree Post by: janaage on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, 17:06:03 The man's pleyed well for us this year, some people are never pleased.
If Williams came back into the starting line up I think he'd struggle, big time. He wasn't that great last season tbh. Title: Aljofree Post by: sonic youth on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, 17:26:01 try opening your eyes then
Title: Aljofree Post by: Kinky Tom on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, 17:33:28 He can pass it, but as I say it's a bit too obvious where he's going to look to pass it most of the time, think he should be looking to offload to central midfield more often, rather than the right wing every time.
I have no problems with him other than that, and only prefer Collins because I can't see anyone troubling him in the air. Title: Aljofree Post by: janaage on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, 17:39:30 Ever thought that Mr Sturrock has asked Aljofree to get the wingers involved at every given opportunity. Aljofree does as is told and is quite clearly well thought of by PS.
The man does what he needs to do, like Vincent. No fluke that when these two players are involved we do alright. Title: Aljofree Post by: Kinky Tom on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, 17:48:55 That may be the problem, I just don't see the point in it happening all the time, surely the CMs can get the ball to the wingers easier?
Title: Aljofree Post by: sonic youth on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, 18:21:37 i get the impression both centre-backs are told to distribute the ball horizontally to the wingers...ifil has a tendency of pinging it towards zaaboub/peacock
Title: Aljofree Post by: adje on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, 22:25:33 Ifil has a tendency of pinging it into the Nationwide!
Title: Aljofree Post by: axs on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, 22:30:01 not so much recently, he's started using it well.

pull t'other one Title: Aljofree Post by: jimbob on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, 23:41:24 boob has a head like a 50pence piece whereas the cock rises like a can of john west
Title: Aljofree Post by: Bennett on Wednesday, November 21, 2007, 08:41:25 no way. boob has actually got a good header on it...he just appears to hide it particularly well due to being very lazy and very french

Perhaps if he could put gloves on his head (or a "hat" as it 's technically called) he'd be ok.
