Title: So two working days until... Post by: janaage on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, 09:13:42 ....Uncle Bob and Dear old Mike D (and others) move aside and allow Mr Fitton and co to take the reigns. Can't wait, I 100% expect the deal to be finalised on Friday, as previously announced, as there has been no news to the contrary.
This fantastic board of ours wouldn't say nothing and then release a statement on Friday letting the clubs supporters know that there has been some sort of delay. The champagne is on ice. Title: So two working days until... Post by: janaage on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, 09:16:17 ps any chance of this getting moved to "the boardroom" wasn't aware I was in the players bit
Title: So two working days until... Post by: Batch on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, 09:20:34 I'd imagine there will be an announcement along the lines of the Best announcement, 'done deal subject to contract.' Actually I think that is what Fitton said would happen anyway isn't it?
Does anyone know why Nov 16th was set as a deadline? To me there seemed a little more to it than an arbitrary date that the club plucked out the air, although it may be just that I suppose. It's when the exclusivity arrangement runs out a.k.a when HMRC start asking for more money. Title: So two working days until... Post by: magic8ball on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, 10:54:28 Andrew Fitton has actually come out and said that 16th might not be the actual date that everything happens. This was a date that Diamandis quoted.
Fitton just stated that everything should be finalised by the end of November. http://www.thisisswindontownfc.co.uk/news/headlines/display.var.1807103.0.fitt_for_purpose.php Title: So two working days until... If these new guys are so cash rich- why do we still have an embargo for £60k and have got rid of the fitness coach to cut costs. Doesnt add up to me that this is a done deal i am afraid Title: So two working days until... Post by: Kinky Tom on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, 10:59:02 There will be some sort of statement though on Friday I expect, could well be a reinvented copy/paste from one of the old BEST statements though.
With Leeds the following day imagine how much of a boost it would be if they came out and said it was all done and dusted! Title: So two working days until... Why should he pump in more cash before he gets control? This way, it's putting more pressure on SSW to sell up quickly, as he doesn't want to put his hand in his pocket anymore. No news doesn't mean it's gone tits up, what's the point in another 'things are progressing' statement? Title: So two working days until... Post by: janaage on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, 11:34:01 Absolutely agree with Hertha, thank God Fitton hasn't started giving the current board money to pay off debts. Would they use the money wisely??? Who knows.

Title: So two working days until... Post by: Red End Street on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, 14:54:03 If it's going to happen (and most of us probably think it's a big if), then the sooner the better.
Title: So two working days until... Post by: donkey on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, 18:28:51 I won't believe it until I see Fitton wearing a Town scarf, standing on the CG pitch being filmed staring meanigfully into the middle distance.
Oh, hang on... Title: So two working days until... Post by: ronnie21 on Thursday, November 15, 2007, 08:14:35 Andrew Fitton is in Australia at the moment! According to Ed Hadwin on Radio Swindon this morning, Fitton rung him yesterday to say that all was progressing and that his lawyers are negotiating with Andronikou!!!! Hadwin believes that a deal has been done with the Wills family so it would appear that Andronikou is the only sticking point left. He also stated that there would be some surprising names in the consortium. Bye bye Newbury!!! :)
Title: So two working days until... Post by: Power to people on Thursday, November 15, 2007, 08:30:13 I assume that he is doing the negotiations with Androniku instead of Diamandis due to Androniku being an independent 3rd party and perhaps the wills family have told him to get the best deal he can and sell the FC rather than diamandis working to get himself the best deal - maybe the Wills have woken up and honestly do realise Fitton is the last hope.
I like the idea of surprising names in the consortium - nothing like a succesful local buisnessman to get the local buisness community involved. I'd like to see a return for a former CEO as well Title: So two working days until... Bye bye Newbury!!! :) Unless the surprising names begin with Dia and end in mandis, and that's why he isn't involved in negotiations on behalf of the Wills - conflict of interests being seller and buyer :) :) Todays crazy ass theory was brought to you by the letters F , U and the number 666, STFC is a production of the wanker controller's workshop. Yes I was joking, the stement/rant gave away Diamandis true feelings on the matter! It sound like good news doesn't it. Fitton is in Australia eh, perhaps he is talking to the bank of Packer then?! Title: So two working days until... Post by: janaage on Thursday, November 15, 2007, 09:13:52 Surprising names in the consortium??
Surely this doesn't mark the return of Eric Shunn, Phil Matitz and Vinnie Garstroke? Title: So two working days until... Not too sure about the mystery behind the consortium. To me someone remains "undisclosed" because they have something to hide which if disclosed too soon would scupper the deal.. This could be a bad thing like with BEST (imho), because its a load of agents looking to make the club a feeder club, or it could be someone we all know who is remaining undisclosed so that the Wills don't back out. (If you get my drift) Title: So two working days until... Post by: Kinky Tom on Thursday, November 15, 2007, 10:18:11 If Fitton is keeping names quiet then that's up to him at the moment - he's had bags of success in business, I doubt he wants to be in partnership with anyone who could damage his reputation.
Title: So two working days until... Post by: sonic youth on Thursday, November 15, 2007, 10:31:30 well, for someone promising clarity and openness to the fans he could start with telling us his intentions and those others who are involved in the deal.
Title: So two working days until... Post by: wheretherealredsare on Thursday, November 15, 2007, 10:32:40 Surprising names like ...
Bang & Olafson The Boo Radleys (reformed for the takeover) Title: So two working days until... Post by: Kinky Tom on Thursday, November 15, 2007, 10:34:20 No point in getting our hopes up though in case the deal does die - if it all goes through I expect a frank rundown of what state the club is in now, what he's going to do about it and where he sees us in a couple of years time. I know this is all frustrating but BEST coming out and saying all they said didn't help anyone, least of all Sturrock...
