yes its Yoann Folly was linked in the summer coming in on loan if we can get the embargo lifted

I think Roberts, on current form, is a real asset. I can't understand why we'd need a left winger although i feel Zaaboub could be at left back for a while so maybe just to provide cover for Peacock?

problem with it is that we still owe £60,000 in footballing debt according to the adver

Starnes is meeting the FL on Weds to try and plead our case..they will proably laugh remind him the CVA has not been paid and say ohh by the way we are giving you a points deduction for not paying the CVA

Because we do not have a creative midfielder our two centre mids at the moment are box to box and give everything but they don't unlock defences with defence splitting passes etc.  If Folly is very creative then he would be a great signing especially if he can play left and centre.

Of course all of this is irrelevent unless the board pull there finger out and get the embargo lifted.

We don't need another quality striker we need our current ones to hit form Painter, Cox and Corr are all capable of getting alot of goals in this division we just need them back in form.

Remember Cox will go back to Reading in Jan probably though. Sturrock is shite and Arrietta is even worse.

Until Cox does go back though we don't have to cross that bridge we have sufficent back up with all 3 being good strikers Cox, Painter and Corr if we were to sign another good striker can you imagine 2 of these players being happy on the bench? I agree though that Sturrock and Arrietta are absolutely shite, in fact I put both those players on the same par ability wise as the great Jason Drysdale.

The centre half worries from Sturrock is more down to the fact that Blackburn hasn't turned out as good as he hoped, Williams has been slow recovering, Vincent picked up that bad injury and Nicho is a drunk.  If the embargo gets lifted and we get taken over we should sign Collins as he would provide sufficent competition for Ifil and Aljofree.

Hang on a minute. Two weeks (or so) ago, we needed to trim 8 players from the squad. Have any left? I've not heard anything, so can safely assume NO.

I agree totally. One minute we're top heavy with players and are desperate to get them out on loan so they don't stagnate in the reserves, the next we're thin on the ground and are desperate to sign players.

Perhaps pressure was being applied on Luggy to cut down the wage bill, which has now been alleviated?

I've interpreted Luggy's comments as a the first warning shots in the campaign to get shot of the players that BEST brought in, and those that he doesn't fancy that were here when he arrived.

A matter of getting your justification in early... "oh we can't help it we're skint we've got to get rid of players....yes I know we signed a contract with you but........"

Now, interestingly, Luggy is saying we need 4 players in in key positions, yet the ex-scummer fitness coach has left due to the finances... :?

Perhaps the loan deals are the type where the owning club pay the wages as they just want the player to get some games/match fitness?

yeah but he doesn't seem to know what he wants. one minute he's happ, one minute he's not. one minute he says the squad is far too big, the next it's too small.

he should make do with what he's got, he brings players in left, right and centre - not referring to the BEST trio - and some don't even play.

He doesn't seem to rate Chris Blackburn (who, of course, he signed) at all. I've not seen the bloke play but by all accounts he's not exactly done a lot wrong.

exactly. he rated blackburn enough to sign him on a two year deal yet would rather play a raw and totally incapable 17 year old. it's not as if he's young enough to be viewed as one for the future, he's experienced and has looked decent when i've seen him play.

it's not the first time either, he made a few pointless signings last season as well - noubissie, gnapka, kevin james, ashley grimes...

he's hardly in a position to moan about resources when he's been allowed to bring in worthless players in the past...

  The point of the job lot of deadline day loanees, was to put a boot up a few backsides and cover any injuries for teh run in.....we went up, all teh players fucked off, except  Corr.  Good management.

  It wouldn't exactly be a surprise though if Sturrock lost his marbles,  in our history has there ever been a season as crazy as this and its only 4 months in.

noubissie and gnapka weren't deadline day signings though.
