Title: roberts bleating Post by: DMR on Monday, November 12, 2007, 13:50:49 can't help but agree with him on this occassion, can't see how he's not in the side.
cartainly if you have the choice of playing peacock or roberts on the wing, you'd think it would be roberts? Title: roberts bleating Post by: janaage on Monday, November 12, 2007, 14:11:08 agreed DMR. he does need a kick up the backside at times though, and I think PS knows this.
Title: roberts bleating Post by: Tails on Monday, November 12, 2007, 14:11:13 Agree, I thought the fact he mentions clear the air talks means there has been some sort of fall out no matter how much he denies it... it's the only thing that explains it for me at the moment because I've been really surprised Roberts hasn't been starting.
Title: roberts bleating Post by: sonic youth on Monday, November 12, 2007, 14:37:24 i understand luggy's trying to keep him on his toes, but i think he's taking it to extremes here.
comminges was woeful on the wing in the first half against wycombe Title: roberts bleating Post by: Power to people on Monday, November 12, 2007, 15:39:27 I suspect Luggy is fed up with his inconsistent performances and is trying others to see if he can get someone consistent to play there.
When Robo & Jp are on their game they can cause lot's of problems but neither has put in a consistently good performance to make themselves immune from the axe. I think Sturrock see's Robo as someone that can do ok in this league but would have to be replaced if we got promoted as he is not good enough. Title: roberts bleating Post by: reeves4england on Monday, November 12, 2007, 16:11:04 I think Roberts will start against Leeds. He was the first player to look really dangerous at Wycombe and obviously got the first goal. I agree that he does need to be kept in check though because he seems to get complacent
Title: roberts bleating Post by: Tails on Monday, November 12, 2007, 16:30:39 I'm not sure about being inconsistent though, in the past yes but this year I think he's been excellent throughout, with 1 or maybe 2 games where he was pretty ineffective. I think that was more down to our tactics than Roberts himself to be honest.
Not sure what's happened to McGovern, he was ace when he started but seems to have gone off the boil a little bit... It's a shame because JP and Roberts on either wing were so dangerous and we looked excellent going forward. Let's hope it's just a blip. Roberts needed to be checked as after Gilligham he seemed to go off the boil a bit, point has been made though and should now be back in the team as the other options have so far been woefull. A fit and up for it Roberts and McGovern have the ability to tear most defences to shreads. McGovern, however, spends too much time drifting in field and not staying wide in order to get round the full backs, him and Roberts need to stick to their touchlines and give the mid field/defence someone to aim a pass to rather than the hoofed ball lumped up through the middle to Corr/Paynter. Title: roberts bleating Post by: Fred Elliot on Monday, November 12, 2007, 17:10:31 Its Roberts kind of game, plus the old Wise connection.
I just got a feeling he will put on another show like Walsall away last year (I bloody hope so !) Oh I so hope we do, that would be class, all the Leeds fans I know think they will stuff us and keep saying they will run away with the Championship this season (which I think they may well do TBH) Title: roberts bleating Post by: adje on Monday, November 12, 2007, 17:27:09 Quote from: "Power to people" I suspect Luggy is fed up with his inconsistent performances and is trying others to see if he can get someone consistent to play there. Title: roberts bleating Post by: Red81 on Monday, November 12, 2007, 18:10:12 Sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere but, did anyone see Roberts and Corr squaring up to each other at Wycombe? A mate mentioned it on the way home.
Title: roberts bleating Post by: Marie on Monday, November 12, 2007, 18:29:59 They didn't square up to each other, Corr had a go at Roberts for not playing him in whilst walking towards him, Roberts was walking past him to take a corner and they both had several words with each other... were not happy with each other by any means but i think forgotten sooner or later!
Title: roberts bleating Post by: Red81 on Monday, November 12, 2007, 18:36:33 Ah cool, cheers.

Whereas Peacock is consistently crap I think that is a bit unfair - Peacock is much better in the middle, but put out wide he will try and do a job for the team although it is nowhere near his best position, you can never fault peacock for effort Title: roberts bleating Post by: Crozzer on Monday, November 12, 2007, 23:16:52 I thought previously Luggy had said that Roberts had a suspect knee that needed injections, or am I imagining things?
