Title: Wycombe V Swindon Matchday Thread.
Post by: herthab on Saturday, November 10, 2007, 07:27:48
Ah the glamour of the FA Cup!

I'm unusually pessimistic about this one, for some reason the best I think we'll get is a draw.

Key players such as Ifil and Cox won't be playing, so it's going to be a tough one.

1.1 Corr to score ours.

(Hope I'm wrong and we stuff 'em!)

I'm in agreement,1-1.Can't see us keeping a clean sheet, but we should be able to muster at least a goal.

I think its the first time ever that i've been to two away games in a row though

Good to see (well, hear) one Smith is back in the side. Sounds like Wycombe are more up for it and Blair Sturrock doesn't fill me with confidence.

Same for Comminges. Struggled at RB on Tuesday.  Starts at left wing at the expense of Roberts and/or JPM today. Blair for Paynter!?

Summariser reckons Tozer or Corr for MoM. To be fair, Tozer seemed to play well, no real crises involving him. Wonder what the folks at the match think.

Tozer was our worst player. Got ok in the second half, but was out of position so many times it wasn't even funny

I think we did just enough to win it.They passed it around a fair bit but never really did anything goal-threatening-wise.

Michael pook    Where did that performance come from. He was fucking brilliant today, best player on the pitch by far.

Blair sturrock needs to be told that he can occasionaly run towards teh goal. Every time he got it, he'd turn back or run towards the corner flag, even when one-on-one with t'defender. Billy payntre did good when he came on, changed the game. Their keeper was awful, dived past paynters shot.

I'm pretty sure it was an own goal!

We did ok today I thought. We weren't at our best but with a makeshift defence and no decent wingers on the pitch what do you expect?!

Tozer was poor and simply isn't ready. THREE of his clearances got blocked and he got caught out of position way too often. Good finish from Roberts, nice move for the second goal but you have to question the keeper! Goodness knows where Pook pulled that performance from - he even took players on down the wing!
