Title: Centre Back Wycombe? Post by: blinkpip on Wednesday, November 7, 2007, 18:00:06 With Ifil out Saturday (accourding to Sturrock in last night interview, bbc). Who's likely to fill in for him Saturday?
Nicholas, Vincent? Title: Centre Back Wycombe? Post by: DV on Wednesday, November 7, 2007, 18:02:19 blackburn
Title: Centre Back Wycombe? Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Wednesday, November 7, 2007, 18:06:55 Blackburn. It's only the FA Cup. And we'll probably lose anyway so why not?
Title: Centre Back Wycombe? Post by: STFC_Gazzza on Wednesday, November 7, 2007, 18:11:30 couldnt care lesss about this game, yes its more money for the club but we need Ifil and the rest of the players fit so dont care if we fielded the youth team being quite honest.
If we didnt have the embargo on us I wouldnt say that mind. Title: Centre Back Wycombe? Gazzza....the money could be critical, a few seasons ago Wycombe got to the semis as a mid table L1 side, imagine if as seems likely the Fitton deal falls through, how do we pay the CVA then? Title: Centre Back Wycombe? Post by: STFC_Chris on Wednesday, November 7, 2007, 18:29:31 I'm quite looking forward to this actually, I like cup games... Palace last year was great fun so it'd be good to get through a few rounds and in with a chance of a 'big' team. Hopefully Sturrock will take it seriously and put a decent team out.
Title: Centre Back Wycombe? Post by: DV on Wednesday, November 7, 2007, 18:30:46 Wycombe will win to complete the set.
Knocked us out the League Cup 2 seasons ago Knocked us out of the LDV Trophy last season Knocked us out of the FA Cup this season Title: Centre Back Wycombe? I went to the 4-1 game. Was it really 4 years ago?! How time flies!4-1 or something. and, erm, i care because i never want to see swindon lose. I'd play Blackburn alongside Hasney. Not because i don't care about the result but because I think he'd do a good job. As Reg said, the money could be crucial and if the team get their act together on the day there should be no excuses for not winning this game. Title: Centre Back Wycombe? Title: Centre Back Wycombe? Post by: pumbaa on Wednesday, November 7, 2007, 19:26:57 I don't get all this apathy about the FA Cup. We know we're never going to win the damn thing, but look at the possibilities if/when you get to the third round. A big premiership club at home would generate some interest around the town, draw in a few casual supporters - we might even perform and earn a replay! Bit of national exposure, no harm there, a bit of money (hopefully with a new board in place to 'invest it wisely') and kick on from there. Success breeds confidence.
The only cup competition we're in with a shout of winning is the JPT, and look what happened there.... I'm back in my happy zone.... Title: Centre Back Wycombe? I think Tozer might get a go actually I know he got a slagging for the JPT game but he looked quite good against Charlton and was up against a really tricky player Title: Centre Back Wycombe? Post by: fatbury on Thursday, November 8, 2007, 09:32:12 he is brilliant for 17!
Title: Centre Back Wycombe? Post by: Colin Todd on Thursday, November 8, 2007, 09:36:20 He's not. Hes BIG for 17, has a lot to learn about defending from what I've seen
Title: Centre Back Wycombe? Post by: Mplanney on Thursday, November 8, 2007, 09:56:37 Does anyone know if Cox can play or will Reading not want him cup tied.

Title: Centre Back Wycombe? Post by: janaage on Thursday, November 8, 2007, 10:18:44 As long as Dave Mitchell doesn't have to man mark Les Ferdinand again we should be fine.

Title: Centre Back Wycombe? Post by: fatbury on Thursday, November 8, 2007, 10:50:59 Corr would have to start if Coxy aint fit .. would be interesting to see how our two forwards that are actually ours would get on together .. especially as Coxy might be off in Jan
Title: Centre Back Wycombe? Post by: Kinky Tom on Thursday, November 8, 2007, 10:53:25 Cox may be offing Jan? Have to wonder why Cox is making a play for the hit-man game and also why Jan would be his first target - I've always thought the lad was sound. :?

Hes BIG for 17, has a lot to learn about defending from what I've seen I'd go along with that - he did nothing against Charlton aside show that he's physically more than ready, and on the back of that, he's got the confidence to mix it - he was talking to those around him and looked like he belonged, until Lloyd Sam danced round him countless times. I thought he was off the pace and naive, but what more do you expect. You see a few 17 year old strikers and wingers - not many defenders. Tozer's time will come, hopefully with us, but not yet Title: Centre Back Wycombe? Post by: reeves4england on Thursday, November 8, 2007, 17:10:54 Paynter and Corr up front? I can picture it now
Hoof Hoof Hoof Hoof Title: Centre Back Wycombe? Post by: Samdy Gray on Thursday, November 8, 2007, 18:13:58 Reading have denied permission for Cox to play. On the OS Sturrock suggesting it might be Corr & Sturrock Jnr up front :|

Better than Blair anyway Or we could do the "unthinkable" and stick Roberts upfront with Paynter for a match Title: Centre Back Wycombe? Considering we're short on strikers, it sure as hell beats the days we had Martin Williams and Jimmy Quinn rolling out the grannymobile Title: Centre Back Wycombe? Post by: Crozzer on Friday, November 9, 2007, 02:00:32 Smith at RB, Tozer at CD, sub Blackburn.
Title: Centre Back Wycombe? Post by: Tails on Friday, November 9, 2007, 09:03:21 I'd give Mohammed a go upfront, he's been patient enough and from what I've seen he looks an excellent prospect.
