I was thinking maybe after Blackburn game at the weekend, but he resigned before tonights game... apparently. The board had yet to confirm it.Title: Martin Jol Post by: sonic youth on Thursday, October 25, 2007, 21:01:32 i feel sorry for him. spurs fans seem to have the idea they're suddenly a champions league club and he's suffered for it!
Title: Martin Jol Post by: STFCBird on Thursday, October 25, 2007, 21:03:45 Yeah he's a top bloke, lets hope he goes to a better club than fucking spurs now.
Title: Martin Jol Post by: Bogus Dave on Thursday, October 25, 2007, 21:06:19 ramos is meant to be taking over, with poyet as his assistant :o
Title: Martin Jol Post by: tans on Thursday, October 25, 2007, 21:07:54 gus the cunt.
Title: Martin Jol Post by: Scot Munroe on Thursday, October 25, 2007, 21:12:33 feel sorry for Jol. Spurs played attractive football under him and were succesful. He'll go to Ajax anyway.
Title: Martin Jol Post by: STFC Village on Thursday, October 25, 2007, 21:28:16 I don't feel in the slightest bit sorry for Jol, he's a multi-millionaire
Title: Martin Jol Post by: STFC_Gazzza on Thursday, October 25, 2007, 21:34:17 To be fair to Jol he stuck with it despite all the backstabbing. Most spurs fans didnt want him to go. JOL FOR ENGLAND!
Title: Martin Jol Post by: reeves4england on Thursday, October 25, 2007, 21:38:05 I'm going to see Spurs vs Blackpool next week.
Maybe I'll get a chance to abuse Gus?!! Title: Martin Jol Post by: pumbaa on Thursday, October 25, 2007, 21:45:24 Quote from: "reeves4england" I'm going to see Spurs vs Blackpool next week. Title: Martin Jol Post by: dell boy on Thursday, October 25, 2007, 21:52:22 They should have done the decent thing and put him out of his misery months ago. Jol is a decent guy, he will be better off away from Tottenham.
Sacking club and massive underachievers. Title: Martin Jol Post by: Ben Wah Balls on Thursday, October 25, 2007, 22:03:36 I like Jol and I think he did a very good job the last couple of seasons, Spurs seem to be really lacking in confidence at the moment though and it was kind of inevitable he would have to leave even though it's a shame.
Just hope they get someone good to replace him, Mourinho would be good, although I'd rather England got him. Title: Martin Jol Post by: flammableBen on Thursday, October 25, 2007, 22:05:16 Spurs are a weird club for me. I'm not particularly fond of them, but due to disliking lot's of teams more they often end up being the team I want to win. Crazy.
Title: Martin Jol Post by: Crozzer on Friday, October 26, 2007, 00:58:22 They got rid of Jimmy Greaves, they have never been the same since.

Title: Martin Jol Post by: Matchworn Shirts on Friday, October 26, 2007, 06:36:19 Jol is probably a good coach but not a good manager
Title: Martin Jol Post by: herthab on Friday, October 26, 2007, 07:09:59 Best manager Spurs have had for 30 years (Statistically).
The board at Spurs caused the problem initially by linking the managers job to other people. Last 2 seasons finishing 5th is no mean achievement for a club traditionally seen as a cup side. Once again we see a good manager not being given support. Title: Martin Jol Post by: Gazza's Fat Mate on Friday, October 26, 2007, 07:22:11 martin jol's mother is whore she's whore she's whoreore

Title: Martin Jol Post by: stfctownenda on Friday, October 26, 2007, 08:52:05 Thought the Spurs fans gave him an awesome send off when news spread to the ground that he was leaving. The chant of stand up for Martin Jol was chanted throughout the stadium and practically everyone in the ground was standing. He can leave with his head held high with 2 fifth place finishes, this season the board and the players let him down big style. Everytime you see Spurs play these days there players look like there shitting themselves, they make such silly mistakes and cost him his job.
Title: Martin Jol Post by: McLovin on Friday, October 26, 2007, 08:53:00 The fans and players loved Jol, and i thought he was decent. Since the board started fucking around, his position became more and more unattenable. Due to their interference and pressure, i dont think it was possible for him to get the best out of the players. having said that, a lot of the Spurs team should take responsibility for their half-arsed attempts.
Title: Martin Jol Post by: Samdy Gray on Friday, October 26, 2007, 08:54:57 Sturrock to Tottenham :o

But in all seriousness do you think he would leave Chelsea to become Spurs Manager? The only way Jose is coming back to England is if he get's offered the National Job. Title: Martin Jol Post by: Kinky Tom on Friday, October 26, 2007, 14:57:05 I'm actually with Ben on this, in that if Mourinho were to manage another Prem club I can see it being Spurs - it's London based, they've got money to throw away, it's right under Roman's nose, they're ambitious (unrealistically so mind)...
I couldn't really care less though tbh, not a fan of Spurs at all and frankly I haven't missed Mourinho 1 little bit. Title: Martin Jol Post by: Simon Pieman on Friday, October 26, 2007, 15:12:25 Think Jol is a good manager, but seeing as I couldn't give a toss about Spurs or most of the Premiership, I'm not really that bothered.
Title: Martin Jol Post by: Arriba on Friday, October 26, 2007, 15:20:25 jol spent loads and has taken spurs into the bottom 3 :soapy tit wank:
he talks like a twat and manages like one. as for the players loving him?ask that question to jermaine defoe! Title: Martin Jol Post by: Gelbfüßler on Friday, October 26, 2007, 15:29:35 I think Klinsmann at Spurs would be quality. Go on Levy, you know you want to. No expense spared.

No he took them from mid-table to top 5 and challenging for a champions league spot as well as on a good run in Europe, his time at Spurs will be remembered as a successful one. Title: Martin Jol Post by: sonic youth on Friday, October 26, 2007, 16:00:12 iirc jose said he wanted to manage abroad before returning to england.
Title: Martin Jol Post by: Ben Wah Balls on Friday, October 26, 2007, 16:04:49 He did say that and Ramos said he would stay at Sevilla until the end of the season, we'll see.
Title: Martin Jol Post by: larwood on Friday, October 26, 2007, 16:08:47 As a Spurs hater i was sad to see Jol go,he was doing such a great job.
Title: Martin Jol Post by: janaage on Friday, October 26, 2007, 16:22:35 I though Jose was not allowed to manage in england this season, as part of his severance deal with Chelski.
