I was thinking maybe after Blackburn game at the weekend, but he resigned before tonights game... apparently. The board had yet to confirm it.

Doubt it. He's rumoured to be assistant to Ramos (from Seville) who won't take over until next season. Apparently.

They should have done the decent thing and put him out of his misery months ago. Jol is a decent guy, he will be better off away from Tottenham.
Sacking club and massive underachievers.

I like Jol and I think he did a very good job the last couple of seasons, Spurs seem to be really lacking in confidence at the moment though and it was kind of inevitable he would have to leave even though it's a shame.

Just hope they get someone good to replace him, Mourinho would be good, although I'd rather England got him.

Spurs are a weird club for me. I'm not particularly fond of them, but due to disliking lot's of teams more they often end up being the team I want to win. Crazy.

Jol is probably a good coach but not a good manager

Best manager Spurs have had for 30 years (Statistically).

The board at Spurs caused the problem initially by linking the managers job to other people.

Last 2 seasons finishing 5th is no mean achievement for a club traditionally seen as a cup side.

Once again we see a good manager not being given support.

Not at all, Spurs one of the few teams in the world who can afford him, generally ranked about the 12th richest club in the world, he's unlikely to be out of work for long and if he goes to an English club then Spurs would seem by far the most likely option.

Thought the Spurs fans gave him an awesome send off when news spread to the ground that he was leaving.  The chant of stand up for Martin Jol was chanted throughout the stadium and practically everyone in the ground was standing.  He can leave with his head held high with 2 fifth place finishes, this season the board and the players let him down big style.  Everytime you see Spurs play these days there players look like there shitting themselves, they make such silly mistakes and cost him his job.

The fans and players loved Jol, and i thought he was decent. Since the board started fucking around, his position became more and more unattenable. Due to their interference and pressure, i dont think it was possible for him to get the best out of the players. having said that, a lot of the Spurs team should take responsibility for their half-arsed attempts.

But in all seriousness do you think he would leave Chelsea to become Spurs Manager?

The only way Jose is coming back to England is if he get's offered the National Job.

I'm actually with Ben on this, in that if Mourinho were to manage another Prem club I can see it being Spurs - it's London based, they've got money to throw away, it's right under Roman's nose, they're ambitious (unrealistically so mind)...

I couldn't really care less though tbh, not a fan of Spurs at all and frankly I haven't missed Mourinho 1 little bit.

Think Jol is a good manager, but seeing as I couldn't give a toss about Spurs or most of the Premiership, I'm not really that bothered.

I think Klinsmann at Spurs would be quality. Go on Levy, you know you want to. No expense spared.

I don't think he'd have left his job at Chelsea to become Spurs manager but now he's not at Chelsea possibly, depends whether he wants to keep managing in the premiership.

I didn't say I think it's going to happen, just he would be a good replacement.

No he took them from mid-table to top 5 and challenging for a champions league spot as well as on a good run in Europe, his time at Spurs will be remembered as a successful one.

The thing is he has no experience at club level. Having said that he had no managerial experience when he managed Deutschland and look how he changed the way they play
